Valentine’s Day Nails

Hallo! 🙂

valentine's day nail art

Here are my Valentine’s day nails! I have to admit that I’m really lacking in any inspiration for Valentines nail art this year, so this is a rather obvious choice of pink and hearts! 😀

The polishes I used for the gradient are A England Camelot, Color Club Foil Me Once and another Color Club polish called Hot Like Lava. The little hearts are Camelot as the base and Foil Me Once over the top.

Because the hearts where quite pronounced I ended up adding two coats of Seche Vite to flatten it out.

one thing creating this mani has made me realise is, I own way more pink nail polish than I thought… And I should probably use them more often!

Spring Flowers

Hello everyone! 🙂

Spring Flowers Nail Art Using Illamasqua Omen, Barry M Shocking Pink, Color Club Hot Like Lava, Sinful Colors Snow Me White

Spring Flower Nail Art

Today I have some really easy Spring Flower Nails to show you all! I was going to post this cute mani on Friday, but I ended up not having the time!

The polishes I used are

  • Illamasqua – Omen
  • Barry M – Shocking Pink
  • Color Club – Hot Like Lava
  • Sinful Colors – Snow Me White
  • Barry M Nail Art Pen – Silver

Omen, Shocking Pink, Hot Like Lava and Snow Me White

This is the first time I have tried Omen, it’s amazing! So green and sparkly! it dries really quickly to a lovely satin finish too!

For the flowers I used a medium and small dotting tool starting with Snow Me White, I used the medium size dotting tool and placed five dots in a circle, then with the small dotting tool i added the Shocking Pink and a final dot of Hot Like Lava in the middle.

Not that you can really see from the pictures, I added leaves and swirly patterns with a silver nail art pen… But as soon as I added the topcoat it all vanished! 😦

So Green!

I don’t think I have ever experienced vanishing nail art before lol. But I still like this even without the silver!

Pink Spotty Nails!

While I was going through my nail art box I found my dotting tools and realized that I haven’t used them for ages, so today I have pink spotty nails to show you! 🙂

Color Club Hot like Lava With Orly Liquid Vinyl dots.

I started with two coats of Hot Like Lava from Color Club, it’s such a bright metallic pink! The weather it horrid today all grey and raining so I wanted something bright 🙂

Hot like Lava applied really smoothly and it dries really quickly, the only problem I found with it is the visible brush strokes but the dots cover those 🙂

I used a medium sized dotting tool and Liquid Vinyl from Orly, I used this one because it takes a bit longer to dry than my other black polishes so I had a bit longer to play before it went all thick and stringy!

Dotty Nails

Unfortunately this really suffered from the dreaded Seche Vite shrinkage :/ but it’s cute and spotty so I don’t mind too much!

Pink and Purple Sugar Skulls!

I have wanted to do some sugar skull nails for ages! And I have finally got the chance to do them 😀

Pink and Purple Sugar Skull Nail Art

Sugar Skulls

I started with two coats of Poke from Illamasqua. Poke has to be one of my favorite purple varnishes! It’s so vibrant 😀 for the skulls I made decals using this technique here! I used Ivory Skull from Sally Hansen and Hot Like Lava from Color Club along with Konad special polish in black for the stamping!

I used plate BM-413 from the Bundle Monster CYO set. I found that the large skull image was fine for my thumb nail but it was a little bit wide for my ring finger. it took  a bit of repositioning the decal before it looked right.

on my other fingers I used one coat of Black Magic from Revlon topped with Chit Chat Pink Glitter!

I am definitely going to be doing something like this around Halloween! 😀

Foiled Again! Stamped Peacock Feathers.

Foil Peacock

I started this with a base of two coats of Black Magic from Revlon. For the stamping I used a combination, of Cold Metal (blue), Perfect Mol-Ten (green), Hot Like Lava (pink) and Antiquated (gold) all from the foil range from Color Club.

I put a drop of each polish on the image and and poked them all around with my scraper until the stamping image was covered, before removing the excess, I did mess up a couple of times as I wasn’t quick enough transferring the image to my nail. The Color Club Foil polishes dry really fast, I didn’t even have the chance to line up the image :/

This is the first time I have tried stamping with more than two colours! I really like how it turned out 😀 even tho it was a pain to do!

The stamping plate I used is Messy Mansion Birdie plate MM14, which is available here.

I finished it off with a coat of color club top coat, The top coat is not too bad, it applied nicely and importantly didn’t mess up my stamping and it didn’t shrink…

After writing this I’m starting to think that this top coat might actually be rather good rather than not too bad! Lol.

It’s just I’m so used to using Seche Vite now that any other top coat lacks the thick glassy finish and seems to take for ever to dry! :/ Maybe I should start trying out other brands of topcoat, so is Poshe any good? What about HKgirl? 🙂
