My Almost New Year Nails!

Hello! I hope you are having a fantastic start to this brand new year!

black and gold glitter gradient

This is the nail design that I was going to be wearing at new year but because I was ill, I ended up not going anywhere other than my sofa and feeling sorry for myself. Boooo!

But these nails are so pretty I had to share them with you all! ๐Ÿ™‚ So sparkly!

Annoyingly, after only a couple of days of getting better from my last horrible cold,ย  I seem to be coming down with another one D:

Stoopid germs!

The polishes I used for this very sparkly look are Maxxed Out from CrowsToes and Beauty Never fails from A England!

If you’re interested, you can find my swatch of Beauty Never Fails (along with my other lovely A England polishes) Here

I decided on using Beauty Never fails rather than a black cream because of the beautiful greenish gold shimmer running through it, I think it really complements the magnificent sparkles of Maxxed Out.

Maxxed Out is quite possibly the sparkliest nail polish I own! It’s one of the lovely collection of polishes I picked up from a blog de-stash from the lovely Debbie over at The Crumpet!

Look at all the holographic glitters! Lots of varying sized hex in different shades of gold, gold glitter and a smattering of quite long bar glitters.

With this super sparkly glitter bomb I was expecting application to be a nightmare but I actually really easy to apply, all the glitters behaved I didn’t have to fish for any of the larger ones, and applied they all laid flat against my nails, the only bits that I moved around where some of the bar glitters.

The first coat of glitter I used a sponge just to add a layer of glitter like a messy french tip, after applying the second coat, with the brush I realised that I really didn’t need to have done the sponge coat at all!

I added one coat of Seche Vite to smooth it out and add a glassy finish, then very carefully filed away the overhanging glitter (some how I forget to file my thumb, I’m going to blame the germs).

I’m not usually a fan of gold nail polish, but I really do like both of these! ๐Ÿ˜€

Gold and Red Chevrons

It’s been ages since my last post! Sorry about that!

Before I run out of time here is my Pick and Mix Mani for this week! This weeks prompts are Red, Gold and Chevron.

Gold and Red Chevron Nail Art Taras Talons Zombie Blood and Revlon Golden

Taras Talons Zombie Blood and Revlon Golden

For this I used Zombie Blood from this years Halloween range from the lovely Taras Talons, It really is a glorious red jelly! The green holographic glitters are wonderful.

The gold polish is from Revlon and it’s called Golden.

very festive colours

I didn’t want to add to much gold to this mani, Zombie Blood Is so lovely I didn’t want to cover it up!

So much glitter! ๐Ÿ˜€

I applies three coats of the red polish then when it had dried I used striping tape to create the Chevrons and the triangle shapes and carefully added two coats of golden.

Lovely, lovely striping tape

This really is such a festive look!

31DC2014 Day 5 Blue

turquoise Nails

Turquoise Nails

After having a quick hunt about on the interwebs for blue nails trying to get some inspiration I came across loads of pictures of Turquoise gem stone nails, and this is my attempt at them! ๐Ÿ™‚

For this I started with two coats of Air-kiss from Filthy Gorgeous which is a lovely mid blue cream.

Turquoise Water Spotted Nails

Then when it was dry I used cling film (saran wrap) to apply Catwalk Couture from Seventeen which is a slightly paler blue cream polish, along with a couple of drops each of Golden from Revlon and Antiquated from Color Club, and a tiny bit of Blue-Topia a dark blue jelly also from Color Club I put them all onto a plate and swirled the polishes around a little then gently dabbed the mixture onto my nails.

Then using Twilight from Filthy Gorgeous (which is also a really good black for water marbling)ย  I used the water spotting technique to apply the black, and I should probably stop using my expensive perfume to do water spotting, but my nails smell lovely after lol!

Then I used Color Club Topcoat, and unfortunately ended up with a little bit of dragging on my thumb :/

I’m definitely going to be doing this again, hopefully when I can keep my nail art on for longer than 24 hours! ๐Ÿ˜€

This polish is a lovely warm golden metallic, It really is amazingly shiny!ย  The formula is lovely and flowed easily from the brush. There are a few brush marks but with slightly more careful application than mine this could be minimized ๐Ÿ™‚

Vampy Valentine’s Nail Art

I couldn’t wait to do some nail art over the Real Color Nail polish from my last post you can find that Here. The colour is so perfect for a Valentine’s Day Mani!

Valentines Day Nail Art

Valentines Day Nail Art

I started by making the gradient on my Thumb, Ring and Middle fingers, for that I used Revlon Black Magic. For my Index finger and Pinky I stamped using Messy Mansion Plate MM16 William Morris and friends, you can find that Here.

I also used an image from this plate for my Ring finger, I used Color Club Antiquated for that, it looks more silver than gold in the photos :/

For my Thumb and Middle finger I used Moyou Pro Plate 07 XLย

As a valentines day Mani goes I think that this one is really rather dark and vampy! ๐Ÿ˜€

But I’m not really a pastels kind of girl! ๐Ÿ™‚

Nail polish from Japan Part 2. Berry Color Nail.

This is the second polish I have to show you from the amazing collection of nail varnishes brought back from Japan for me by a rather lovely friend of mine!

Berry Color Nail

Berry Color Nail

This brand is called Berry Color Nail, unfortunately I have no idea what shade this is, my Japanese really isn’t that good lol. But if you know what if is please let me know! ๐Ÿ˜€

Again this is a colour that I wouldn’t have chosen myself, as I’m not really drawn to pale colours. But after applying it I think this is really rather pretty!

Tiny Bottle

Tiny Bottle

This is pale blue/green with gold, silver and iridescent micro glitters, it applied really easily, which is amazing considering the amount of glitter they managed to cram in!

It did take a bit longer to dry than I’m used to, but I think some fast dry top coat would sort that out!

Berry Color Nail

It only took two coats to be opaque! When it dried the polish was really smooth and glossy, there was no grittiness as with some heavy glitter polishes.

I really think that I need more glittery nail polishes like this!ย  ๐Ÿ˜€
