Green Swirly Dry Marble Nail Art!

*Press Sample*

Hey! 🙂

Green Dry Marble Nail Art

The Lovely people from Born Pretty Store have sent me a marbling comb to play with!

After a few attempts to get it to work, this is what I came up with!

Green Dry Marble Nail Art

It’s so swirly and green! Perfect for Spring! 😀

The polishes I used for this are

  • China Glaze – Near Dark
  • Illamasqua – Radium
  • Revlon – Topaz
  • Sally Hansen – Grass Slipper
  • Illamasqua – Omen
  • Color Club – New Bohemian

I started out by using stripes of polish on my mat, but it really didn’t work well, the polish kept bunching up, I realized this was happening because I wasn’t being fast enough and I wasn’t using enough polish :/

So to get this to marble nicely I had to use a huge amount of polish! The bottle of Near Dark was practically full when I started!

Instead of painting stripes I painted A big rectangle of the darkest polish then dripped the other colours onto it, and then used the comb to make the swirly patterns!

This took such a long time to dry! Around 8 hours!

Then all I had to do was to carefully remove it from my mat, which was slightly more challenging than I was expecting, I think that because the edges where so jagged and uneven thickness it kept tearing :/

But because the decal was so huge I had more than enough to cut to size!

I don’t know if I’ll be using the comb often just because of the amount of polish I had to use to get it to work, But when I had figured out how to get great results from it, the comb really is a product that’s really fun to use!

Born Pretty Nail Foil and Glue Review

Look at those colours! It’s so pretty!

This is the first time I have ever tried using nail foils and I’m hoping that with some practice I’ll get better at applying them!

The glue was a bit of a challenge, it kept pooling up and not drying evenly, after applying it, re applying it, swearing, sticking my fingers together then swearing some more, I came to the conclusion that the glue needed something to adhere to. I found Matte topcoat worked surprisingly well!

I also found that I needed to leave the glue a little longer than it suggested on the bottle, it was closer to 1.30/2 minutes rather than the suggested 30 seconds to one minute, I think the humidity and temperature had a lot to do with it.

Born Pretty Nail Foil and Glue Review

I was really surprised about how much of the nail foil you get in the little plastic pot, I don’t think I’ll be running out any time soon. 🙂

Something I do feel like I have to mention is that the foil (number 165) is not holographic, it’s iridescent!

Born Pretty Nail Foil and Glue Review

I applied the matte topcoat, glue and foil starting with my little finger, (which was pretty much perfect) as I worked towards my thumb it got more and more patchy, I really don’t know why, I was doing exactly the same thing on each nail!

Born Pretty Nail Foil and Glue Review

The base colour I used for this mani is the lovely dark blue Queen Of Scots from A England, and the topcoat is Nails Inc 2 in 1.

I’m definitely going to practice with this nail foil a bit more! 🙂

born pretty water slide decal review

I was drawn to these because I like Magpies! As well as being mischievous and very clever, they really are rather pretty!

For the base of this mani I used

  • Sinful Colors – Snow Me White
  • O.P.I – Tickle My France-y
  • Sally Hansen – In A Flash

The decals themselves where really easy to use, they slid easily from the backing paper and didn’t wrinkle up when placed on my nails!

Magico Blossom Nail Stickers Review

Hello! 🙂

Magico Blossom

Here are some really pretty Magico Nail Stickers that have been sent to me for review from Born Pretty

You can find them right here Magico Paper Fan and what’s even better is at the moment they are half price, and for non sale items you can use the code RPG10 for 10% off! 🙂

Magico Blossom nail art Stickers

In this pack there is a lovely selection of pink and white blossom, buds, petals and the cute red fans.

I was a little bit worried that these stickers might be slightly transparent and the black stamping would show through the stickers, but I’m pleased to say that it didn’t at all.

One thing I did find a little bit annoying about them is they don’t stick very well to Seche Vite, they kept peeling up at the edges. To make sure that it wasn’t a problem with the stickers after I had removed this mani I tried a couple of the flowers over Nails Inc 2 in 1, and there was no sign of the peely edges!

Magico Blossom Stickers Review

The other stuff I used for this

  • Barry M Blueberry
  • Filthy Gorgeous Air-Kiss
  • Sinful Colors Snow Me White
  • Hit the Bottle Black
  • Moyou Suki 02
  • Seche Vite

Magico Blossom Stickers Review

I think these stickers are a really nice quality product that’s really easy to use!

Born Pretty Lace Stamping Plate Review

*Press Sample*

Hello! 🙂

Lace Flowers Leadlight Nail Art

Here is a pretty lace stamping plate that has been sent to me from Born Pretty!

You can find the plate right here Lace Stamping Plate. The first thing I have to mention is the image on the Born Pretty store page is a slightly different plate, so for my review I’m using an image that’s the same on my plate BP-L020 and the one on the website.

Born Pretty Lace Stamping plate

There are loads of really lovely images on this plate, a lot of them perfect for leadlighting and reverse stamping.

While I was playing with this plate I noticed that to fit the images on my thumb I had to stretch the image, for the most part it was fine but the the images with more detail ended up looking rather distorted.

Lace Flowers Leadlight Nail Art

Another thing I found, was that I got a much cleaner image pickup by scraping across the plate, so side to side rather than up and down. I have no idea why!

Lace Flowers Leadlight Nail Art

The polishes I used are

  • A England Jane Eyre
  • Illamasqua Load
  • Illamasqua Muse
  • Illamasqua Omen
  • Illamasqua Ouija
  • Illamasqua Prosperity
  • Hit The Bottle Black
  • Seche Vite

Lace Flowers Leadlight Nail Art

This is a really pretty plate, if the images where a couple of mm wider it would be the perfect size!

Born Pretty Nail Shield Review

*Press Sample*

Hello! 🙂

Born Pretty nail shield review

Here is a rather pretty 3d Nail Shield that has kindly been sent to me for review from Born Pretty

the nail shields are available here Born Pretty Nail Shield the style I’m wearing today is number 20!

Born Pretty nail shield review

The first thing I have to say is that these where sent to me when my nails were quite a bit shorter, they have been in my to do pile for quite some time.

This style of nail shield would be perfect on shorter square nails!

they are really easy to attach to the nail either by pressing one into a thick layer of topcoat (which is what I did) or you could use nail glue if you want them to be even more secure.

Born Pretty nail shield review

One thing about these is that they are quite flat, I do have quite a pronounced c curve, so I actually had to bend it with some pliers so it fitted my nail shape. it only took a couple of seconds to do but if you have curved nails like me it’s something thats worth considering.

Born Pretty nail shield review

I think these are really pretty and they are very easy to apply!

And don’t forget you can use the code RPG10 for 10% off your order at born pretty 🙂
