GOT Polish Challenge – Green!

Golden Oldie Challenge

A quick reminder of the rules :

  • The polish you use should be at least one year old.
  • If you haven’t been a polishaholic that long, you can use the oldest polishes you have.
  • The polish should be previously used, but if you’re stuck, you could free a yearling from Mount Untried.
  • You can use more than 1 polish as long as it fits the theme and the rules

I have to say green is not my favorite polish colour and I only own a couple of bottles of green, but luckily I do have this rather old one!  The shade is called Froggy and it was made by a brand called Lizzy French. I think I have had this polish for about 12 years!

The polish is an almost metallic pearl/shimmer with silver, gold and green glitter, As it was so old I ended up having to thin it down quite a lot :/ which made the application a nightmare!

I applied three coats of Froggy over base coat. With the first coat of polish the streaking was dreadful, along with the visible brush strokes, the second coat dissolved the polish underneath, there was crinkling/bunching up and bald spots as well! Ugh the horror!  For the final coat I applied the polish in a really thick layer, really quickly, I’m glad it worked because I was ready to give up on the whole thing.

For the stamping I used Konad special polish And Messy Mansion Plate MM21.

Blue Leopard French Tip!

Here’s my Blue Leopard French Tip nails I painted a couple of days ago!

Blue Leopard French Tip

Blue Leopard

I used Revlon Black Magic as the base colour, then using my trusty french tip guides I stamped the leopard print on tips of my nails, I find that this is much easier than trying to get french tip shaped stamps lined up!

The blue polish I used is Cold Metal from Color Club. It’s amazing for stamping! 😀 then I added the sparkly rhinestones to my ring finger I used tweezers to position them in a dab of wet topcoat.

I finished off my nails with a coat of Seche Vite!

Purple Dots

Purple Dots

I started with two coats of Scorn from Illamasqua, then I used Secret Agent from Color Club for the stamp, This is the first time I have used my new Lilly Anna Plate and it’s lovely, the images are really sharp 🙂 you can find the plate Here.

I then used a medium sized dotting tool to add more dots over the stamp using more Illamasqua Scorn, and then using a tiny doting tool to add the final purple dots with more of the Secret Agent!

I finished it with a coat of Seche Vite.

Vampy Valentine’s Nail Art

I couldn’t wait to do some nail art over the Real Color Nail polish from my last post you can find that Here. The colour is so perfect for a Valentine’s Day Mani!

I started by making the gradient on my Thumb, Ring and Middle fingers, for that I used Revlon Black Magic. For my Index finger and Pinky I stamped using Messy Mansion Plate MM16 William Morris and friends, you can find that Here.

I also used an image from this plate for my Ring finger, I used Color Club Antiquated for that, it looks more silver than gold in the photos :/

For my Thumb and Middle finger I used Moyou Pro Plate 07 XL

As a valentines day Mani goes I think that this one is really rather dark and vampy! 😀

But I’m not really a pastels kind of girl! 🙂

Pink and Purple Sugar Skulls!

I have wanted to do some sugar skull nails for ages! And I have finally got the chance to do them 😀

Pink and Purple Sugar Skull Nail Art

Sugar Skulls

I started with two coats of Poke from Illamasqua. Poke has to be one of my favorite purple varnishes! It’s so vibrant 😀 for the skulls I made decals using this technique here! I used Ivory Skull from Sally Hansen and Hot Like Lava from Color Club along with Konad special polish in black for the stamping!

I used plate BM-413 from the Bundle Monster CYO set. I found that the large skull image was fine for my thumb nail but it was a little bit wide for my ring finger. it took  a bit of repositioning the decal before it looked right.

on my other fingers I used one coat of Black Magic from Revlon topped with Chit Chat Pink Glitter!

I am definitely going to be doing something like this around Halloween! 😀

Subtle Silver and Grey Nail Art

I have some subtle grey and silver nails today, they actually turned out to be a lot more subtle than I was expecting!

I started out with three coats of Pelican Grey from China Glaze, It’s a lovely pale grey with a slight silver shimmer, then I used Cosmic Dust which is also from China Glaze, to create the gradient and stamp the accent nail.

Subtle Silver

My camera was actually behaving today! so here is a bonus close up of the stamping 🙂

I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I’m so not used to not having bright colours and black on my nails that my hands don’t look like my own oO I’m not sure that I like it lol
