Glow in The Dark Flames!

Hey everyone!
It’s been a while ( and by a while I really mean months… Ooops) since my last post.

I really needed a break from everything! I have had a lot of stuff going on that in all honesty has been simultaneously boring and stressful! But I’m not going bore you all with the details!

Instead I have some Glow in the Dark Fire nails to share 😀

I really think these would be great for Halloween!

Flame Nails![/caption]

The stuff I used

  • Stamping Plate MM27
  • Seche Vite
  • Hit The Bottle Stamping Polish – Black
  • Glow In The Dark Polish Orange and Yellow
  • Models Own – Zest a Peel
  • Sally Hansen – Lite

Flame Nails

I used the Models Own and Sally Hansen Polishes to create a gradient, I think using some white undies would have saved me a lot of layers!

Then I added the glow in the dark polish the ones I used are just cheap Pound shop unbranded ones but they do glow reasonably well, I think using some better quality glowing polish would improve this a lot.

Then when It was dry (this took ages) I used MM27 and Hit The Bottle Stamping Polish to add the flames!

Then a coat of Seche Vite and a bit of a clean up to finish it off.

Even if it is orange and yellow this mani makes me really happy! 😀

I used Stamping Plate BP-17 from Born Pretty, along with Desert Valley for the leadlighting. I’m so glad I have finally used this polish! I really wish I had read some reviews about the stuff before purchasing it, to say it’s not a nice polish would be a huge understatement! But a little bit of it works well for this 🙂

I really like the way this looks outside!

Hello! 😀

Grey Water Marble

Grey Water Marble

Today I have these shiny silver studs from Born Pretty to show you!

Born Pretty Nail Art Studs

The studs are made from thin metal, they are really light and slightly flexible while keeping quite a domed profile.

I applied them by pressing them into wet topcoat. You could always use nail glue to apply them if you want them to be a bit more secure.

The studs are available here Born Pretty Triangle Nail Stud and you can get 10% off with the code RPG10!

For my grey water marble I used

  • Sinful Colors – Cool Grey
  • Barry M – Grey
  • China Glaze – Out Like a Light

I’m really pleased with how well these three shades work together! (does happy dance)

For the french tip the silver polish is I’d Melt For You from China Glaze, and I used french tip guides to keep them all even.

Born Pretty BP-17

This stamping plate is called Elegant Flower BP-17 and it’s available here Born Pretty Elegant Flower

Born Pretty BP-17

Born Pretty BP-17

The images on this plate are so pretty! 🙂

Born Pretty BP-17

Born Pretty BP-17

The sparkly silver glitter polish I used as the base for this is Shooting Star from Rimmel London. it’s as lovely polish but It did need a couple of coats of Seche Vite for a smooth surface to stamp onto.

The stamping polish is Konad Special Polish In Black. I think my bottle is on it’s last legs, the image was really sharp and easy to pick up on the stamper but getting it onto my nail was another matter :/

I only kept going because 1. I’m stubborn and 2. Removing glitter polish is a pain in the butt!

Born Pretty BP-17

Born Pretty BP-17

I think I’m going to try this again but with a different stamping polish!

Born Pretty Lacy Cross Water Decal Review

Hey Everyone!

Born Pretty Decal

Born Pretty Decal

Today I have some lovely water slide decals from Born Pretty to show you!

The Born Pretty name for these is “Mini Bow knot Cross Lacy Design Print Nail Art Water Decals” (quite a mouthful lol) and the item number is DS-107.

They are available right here Mini Cross Bow Decal

This is how I apply water slide decals

  1. Cut each decal out as close to the image as you can. Then remove the thin plastic cover
  2. Put the decal in some water for around 15/30 seconds. I try to float them on the surface with the image facing up
  3. Carefully remove it from the white backing, with tweezers or carefully rubbing them between my fingers.
  4. Place the decal on your nail. It helps if your nail is a little wet it makes it easier to reposition the decal if needed.
  5. Wait till it’s dry and add topcoat.

The polishes I used for this look are

  • Barry M – Bright Pink
  • Rimmel – Peppermint
  • Rimmel – Ultra Violet
  • Sinful Colors – Snow Me White

As well as loads of striping tape, french tip guides and a couple of coats of Seche Vite. 😀

Hello! 😀

Jord Wooden Watch Review

Jord Ely Watch

Today I have a wonderful wooden watch that has been kindly sent to me from JORD to share with you!

This is the Ely in black. And I absolutely love it!

You can find the JORD website right here woodwatches.com

as well as  Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/Vine/G+

Jord Wooden Watch

JORD wooden watch Box

The wooden box it arrived in is so cute! (I do have a weakness for well designed packaging)

But more importantly. What’s in the box?!

Jord Wooden Watch

JORD Ely Wooden Watch

The Ely watch is on it’s own branded pillow with a little engraved wooden tag, a warranty card and a card with social media information along with a couple of extra links for the strap.

It all arrived carefully packed inside and out with bubble wrap, and made it all the way from America with out a single scratch!

The Ely retails at $129 which is around £83 and JORD ship internationally.

The Ely is available in four different types of wood, each one a different colour, Black (my one), Cherry (a warm red), Natural Green with Maple (green toned light wood) and Maple (pale honey shade).

Jord Wooden Watch

JORD Ely Wooden Watch in the wild!

The watch itself feels really well made, the wood is very smooth and surprisingly tactile, I keep finding myself stroking it lol.

This is what JORD say about the Ely Watch.

“Ely is produced using a slightly smaller dial and band, with the addition of a date display. The simplicity of this design accentuates the intricacy of the wood grain. The Ely is understated and effortless.”

And the technical details.

  • Deployment Buckle with Push Button
  • Scratch Resistant Mineral
  • Citizen Miyota Quartz Movement (2015 w/Date Display)
  • Case Width: 37mm
  • Case Thickness: 11mm
  • Lug Ends: 45mm
  • Band Length: 200mm
  • Band Thickness: 21mm

Also the clasps are made from stainless steel which is great if you have metal allergies.

Jord Wooden Watch

JORD Wooden Watch With wood nails

For my JORD inspired wood grain nails I used

  • Color Club Black-ish
  • Color Club Rebel Spirit
  • Malava Zanzibar
  • Revlon Hot For Chocolate
  • Revlon Stiletto

Starting with a base of Hot For Chocolate I used a thin brush and Stiletto to paint the grain, I decided that a different pattern on each nail as the wood of each link has a different pattern.

With the same thin brush I added Rebel Spirit, Black-ish and Zanzibar to add a little more depth to the wood grain pattern.

I really love that this watch is unique, it’s light and easy to wear, and because of the lovely neutral colours and classic design it’s really easy to dress up or down. 😀
