Gothic Text Gradient Nail Art

My social media feeds have already been inundated with red and pink Valentines day manicures… I have to say I’m really not feeling it!

So… Here are my Gothic Text nails! 😀

I used Bettina – Iron, Sinful Colors – Snow Me White and Revlon – Stiletto for the radial gradient, The text is from Moyou Gothic Plate 04 along with Hit The Bottle – Black.

Glitter For Blood!

Hello! 🙂

Halloween glitter blood nail Art

Today I have this rather gruesome and glittery gradient to share with you!

Halloween glitter blood nail ArtFor this I used

  • Barry M Red Glitter
  • Estee Lauder Red Hot
  • Revlon Stiletto
  • Seche Vite
  • A Thin Nail Art Brush
  • and a Sponge

I started off with the red and black gradient, which I really think is a classic vampy nail art look. Then to add some Halloween joy I added the glittery blood lol. 🙂

I like this bit I think it would look a bit more interesting if the two red polishes had contrasting shades, on the nail they are surprisingly similar.

I ended up with so many bubbles in my topcoat, it’s probably because the glitter polish, is getting really thick, and trapping air in all the lumps and bumps.

This mani is definitely going to go on the list of ones to recreate 🙂

Halloween Monster Eyes and Some Candlewick Greens Waxy Goodness!

Hello! 🙂

Halloween Monster Eyes

Sorry about the lack of posts last week, I managed to cut my finger :/ don’t worry, it’s on my dominant hand so there won’t be any gory pictures! And I’ve also have a cold (ugh, stoopid germs).

But now that I have dragged myself out of my sofa cocoon and polish remover isn’t really painful to use. I can share with you a two part post starting with these Monster Eyes! 🙂

halloween monster eyes

For my monster eye nails I used

  • Revlon – Stiletto
  • Illamasqua – poke
  • Sally Hansen – Blue Streak
  • Barry M – Crystal Glaze
  • Seche Vite
  • Illamasqua – Matte Top Coat

Thinking about it I didn’t really think through the steps for making the eyes. So I think they do look a little messy round the edges.

The gradient is Poke and Blue Streak with a coat of Crystal Glaze over the top, then with a thin brush I added the eye shape using Stiletto.

In hindsight I should have used tape or something to mask off the eyes, It would have made the edges of the matte topcoat look a lot cleaner.

candlewick green sandalwood vanilla wax melt

A quick question… Have you seen a nail polish that looks like the picture above? If you have please let me know, as I want something like this on my nails right now 🙂

As I’m sure you can tell the photograph isn’t nail polish, its wax! Which brings me on to the second part of my post!

I want to show you some wax melts from a really lovely little company here in the UK. It’s not often that I come across wax melts that I’m really impressed with, but these honestly are amazing! Before I carry on I should let you know that I purchased these myself!

I have pet rats, at the moment I have 8 of the whiskery critters in my living room, and like any pets they can get really rather stinky, so I do end up looking for lovely room fragrances quite often.

These wax melts are so loaded with fragrance that one quarter of a pot is enough to scent the whole of my apartment all day!

If my nostrils could sing with happiness they would be, and not in a creepy old man nose whistle way!

The Candlewick Greens Shop is right here if you would like to have a look 🙂  http://www.candlewick-greens.appspot.com/index.html

candlewick green wax tart melt autumn wreath

Autumn Wreath is the melt I have in my warmer right now, it’s so nice, slightly spiced apples and crunchy leaves!

There is a facebook group here https://www.facebook.com/groups/740123009371304/?fref=ts

it’s the best place to fins out about the restocks and upcoming new scents 😀

candlewick green wax melt tart gingerbread latte

Gingerbread Latte smells just like the drink, I have found that some coffee/creamy scented candles and melts (from a well known brand that happens to start with the letter Y) have this nasty chemical plastic smell. But not these, they smell heavenly!

Another wonderful thing about these wax melts is that most of them are covered in glitter and shimmers! Yay for glitter 😀

The best way to order these lovely melts is through the ready to ship page. http://www.candlewick-greens.appspot.com/readytoship.html

candlewick green wax melt sticky toffee pumpkin waffle

Sticky Toffee Pumpkin Waffle smells so amazing I want to eat it! But I’m sure it wouldn’t taste nearly as good lol!

Out of all the different scent collections on offer at candlewick Greens I have to say my favorite is the Mystical ones!

But I have found one little problem with the bakery scents… Being surrounded by wonderful cake smells makes me really hungry! 😀

Oh if you do make an order for some of this lovely wax (you really won’t be disappointed) if you could leave a note with your order about finding out about them here that would be amazing! 😀

Spooky Spider Halloween Gradient

Halloo! 🙂

Halloween Purple Spiderweb Nail Art

Here are some Spooky Halloween Spiders!

I decided to have a go at a new to me technique called a Radial Gradient, If you haven’t come across this before, it’s circular so instead of painting the polish across the sponge you paint it in a circle, then apply it to the nail in the same way.

I think that for a first attempt I was far to ambitious trying to use four shades (I should have tried with two to start with)

Halloween Purple Spiderweb Nail Art

The products I used are

  • A England – Elaine
  • Revlon – Amethyst
  • China Glaze – Get Outta My Space
  • Revlon – Stiletto
  • Stamping Plate – Moyou Suki 10
  • Hit The Bottle – Black
  • Seche Vite
  • Makeup Sponge

For the gradient I used Stiletto, Elaine, Amethyst and Get Outta My Space, then a coat of Seche Vite.

When that had dried I used Black Hit The Bottle stamping polish and Moyou Suki plate 10 for the spiders and webs then another coat of SV to finish it off.

I have so many ideas for Halloween nail art that I think it’s going to take me all month to share them all! 🙂

Hello! 😀

Jord Wooden Watch Review

Jord Ely Watch

Today I have a wonderful wooden watch that has been kindly sent to me from JORD to share with you!

Jord Wooden Watch

JORD wooden watch Box

The wooden box it arrived in is so cute! (I do have a weakness for well designed packaging)

But more importantly. What’s in the box?!

JORD Ely Wooden Watch

The Ely watch is on it’s own branded pillow with a little engraved wooden tag, a warranty card and a card with social media information along with a couple of extra links for the strap.

It all arrived carefully packed inside and out with bubble wrap, and made it all the way from America with out a single scratch!

The Ely retails at $129 which is around £83 and JORD ship internationally.

The Ely is available in four different types of wood, each one a different colour, Black (my one), Cherry (a warm red), Natural Green with Maple (green toned light wood) and Maple (pale honey shade).

JORD Ely Wooden Watch in the wild!

The watch itself feels really well made, the wood is very smooth and surprisingly tactile, I keep finding myself stroking it lol.

This is what JORD say about the Ely Watch.

“Ely is produced using a slightly smaller dial and band, with the addition of a date display. The simplicity of this design accentuates the intricacy of the wood grain. The Ely is understated and effortless.”

And the technical details.

  • Deployment Buckle with Push Button
  • Scratch Resistant Mineral
  • Citizen Miyota Quartz Movement (2015 w/Date Display)
  • Case Width: 37mm
  • Case Thickness: 11mm
  • Lug Ends: 45mm
  • Band Length: 200mm
  • Band Thickness: 21mm

Also the clasps are made from stainless steel which is great if you have metal allergies.

JORD Wooden Watch With wood nails

For my JORD inspired wood grain nails I used

  • Color Club Black-ish
  • Color Club Rebel Spirit
  • Malava Zanzibar
  • Revlon Hot For Chocolate
  • Revlon Stiletto

Starting with a base of Hot For Chocolate I used a thin brush and Stiletto to paint the grain, I decided that a different pattern on each nail as the wood of each link has a different pattern.

With the same thin brush I added Rebel Spirit, Black-ish and Zanzibar to add a little more depth to the wood grain pattern.

I really love that this watch is unique, it’s light and easy to wear, and because of the lovely neutral colours and classic design it’s really easy to dress up or down. 😀

Stained Glass Nail Art

Hello! 🙂

Today I have Stained Glass nail art to share with you

Stained Glass Nail Art

Stained Glass Nail Art

For this I used

  • Revlon – Stiletto
  • Rimmel – Shooting Star (Space Dust)
  • Filthy Gorgeous – Prism
  • Moyou Gothic Collection 04
  • Konad Black
  • Seche Vite
  • Permanent Marker Pens

Stained Glass Nail Art

I started our with a Glittery base, I used two coats of Shooting star followed by one coat of prism.

As Shooting Star is a textured polish, I added a coat of Seche Vite for a smooth surface to stamp over.

I used Konad Special Polish in Black for the Image. Then another coat of SV over the stamping!

Stained Glass Nail Art

Moyou Gothic Collection 04

My first attempt to add colour to my stained glass nails was with my tinted polishes, and it really didn’t go well! It was lumpy, bubbly and the colours really weren’t bright enough. I had only  tried this on my index finger so I hid the horrible mess with a coat of Stiletto.

This was a bit of an experiment to see if it would work! I coloured in my nails using permanent marker pens! I only tried it because I thought I was going to take off the polish and start again!

It’s very pretty but It’s probably not the best idea I’ve had… I should probably invest in some good quality tinted polishes!

I didn’t add any topcoat over the ink, I tried on my pinky nail and the Seche Vite dissolved the colours, so I covered that with a coat of Stiletto as well.

Stained Glass Nail Art

Permanent Marker Pens…

I didn’t wear this for very long, and I wouldn’t recommend colouring in your nails with permanent marker pens!
