31DC2014 Day 5 Blue

Turquoise Nails

After having a quick hunt about on the interwebs for blue nails trying to get some inspiration I came across loads of pictures of Turquoise gem stone nails, and this is my attempt at them! 🙂

For this I started with two coats of Air-kiss from Filthy Gorgeous which is a lovely mid blue cream.

Then when it was dry I used cling film (saran wrap) to apply Catwalk Couture from Seventeen which is a slightly paler blue cream polish, along with a couple of drops each of Golden from Revlon and Antiquated from Color Club, and a tiny bit of Blue-Topia a dark blue jelly also from Color Club I put them all onto a plate and swirled the polishes around a little then gently dabbed the mixture onto my nails.

Then using Twilight from Filthy Gorgeous (which is also a really good black for water marbling)  I used the water spotting technique to apply the black, and I should probably stop using my expensive perfume to do water spotting, but my nails smell lovely after lol!

Then I used Color Club Topcoat, and unfortunately ended up with a little bit of dragging on my thumb :/

I’m definitely going to be doing this again, hopefully when I can keep my nail art on for longer than 24 hours! 😀

31DC2014 Day 4 Green!

Green Splatter Nails

Green Splatter Nails

Here a are my green nails for day 4! I really couldn’t decide on which polishes to use, So I ended up using nearly all of them (well the green ones)

I used

  • Sinful Colors – Pistache
  • Color Club – Artsy Crafty
  • Barry M – Acid Yellow
  • 2True Metallica – Arete
  • Sinful Colors – Rise And Shine
  • China Glaze – OMG a UFO
  • Color Club – Perfect Mol-Ten
  • Zoya – Logan
  • Sally Hansen – Grass Slipper

I started with two coats of base coat (green stains my nails more than any other colour) then a coat of Pistache.

After that had dried, using a cotton bud (q tip) with the ends cut off I blew the green polishes onto my nails.

I alternated between light and dark shades to make sure there was a good mix of green!

All Of The Green!

This was really messy and took ages to clean up but it was a lot of fun! 😀

31DC2014 – Day 3 Yellow

Maybelline Electric Yellow and China Glaze White On White

Here are my yellow nails for day 3 of the 31DC2014 challenge.

for this I started with three coats of Electric Yellow from Maybelline Color Show, then I used White On White from China Glaze for the freehand V shaped french tips, then I added the dots with a medium sized dotting tool!

This was a really quick and easy design to do (which I’m really glad about, I probably should have thought through doing two challenges at the same time!)

I still don’t like yellow :/

GOT Polish Challenge – Pastel

GOT Polish Pastel

GOT Polish Pastel

Here are my Pastel nails for today’s GOT Polish Challenge!

GOT Polish Part 2

For this I decided to have a try at water spotted nails and it was surprisingly easy! 😀 The Polishes I used are Lathering Lilac which is another of the free ones (that I haven’t used) from Bizzybee and Pink Flamingo from Barry M

I started with two coats of Lathering Lilac, when that was dry I used Pink flamingo for the water spotting. I have to say it’s a really fun technique, loads easier than water marbling!

Then when that was dry I applied a coat of color club top coat, then a final coat of Matte Finisher from Elf

31DC2014 Day 2 Orange Nails!

Orange with bats

Orange with bats

For my Orange nails I have a Halloween mani to show you 🙂

I really couldn’t work out what to do for my nails today. I don’t like orange nail polish, I don’t hate it, I just don’t like it. I feel the same way about yellow nail polish, I don’t like that either.

As I don’t actually own any “orange” nail polish, I decided to use the same polishes from my GOT polish challenge orange water marble mani, you can find that Here.

I started with a couple of coats of East Austin from Color Club, then using the cling film technique I applied Roguish Red from China Glaze. to make the orange coloured background.

For the bats I used Konad SP in black with plate 10 from the Moyou Suki collection.

I finished it off with Color Club topcoat, there is a little bit of shrinking but it’s not too bad. 🙂

Red Butterflies

I started with a couple of coats of Ruby Stilletos from Sally Hansen. This is a really lovely polish, it’s a bright red with loads of red glitter! The butterflies are from Moyou stamping plate Pro Collection XL 05, using Rouge Noir from Chanel. Then finished it off with a coat of Color Club Topcoat.
