31DC2014 – Day 31 Re-create Your Favourite Challenge

Hello everyone! 🙂

This is my last 31DC2014 post! And how could I not do a celebratory water marble!

Purple Water Marble

For this I used

  • China Glaze – White on White
  • Orly – Liquid Vinyl
  • Sally Hansen – Good To Grape
  • China Glaze – Bizarre Blurple

I have been a bit lazy with choosing the polishes for this and just grabbed the closest few on my desk. 😀

I may have forgotten to use tape on my fingers, so the clean up for this took ages! Ugh, and I’m a little bit annoyed about not getting my little finger nail lined up as well as the others.

I really like this colour combination especially the blue iridescent flash from Bizarre Blurple.

So, there it is the 31DC challenge all done, eventually… It only took me a couple of months longer than it should have… Ooops! 😀

31dc2014 – Inspired By a Pattern

Hey everyone! 🙂

Today I have two very different attempts at the inspired by a pattern prompt!

Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to photograph my blue gingham nails  as soon as I had finished them so they all chipped and looking scruffy, so sorry about that!

Blue gingham Nails

For these nails I started out with a base of white on white from china glaze, for the gingham pattern I used a thin brush and my blue franken polish creation, you can find another post about it right here.

The black polish is Emotions from O.P.I It’s one of the Liquid sand range.

After I had finished the blue pattern I realized that I absolutely hated it! It looks like those dreadful plastic tablecloths! Ugh!

Purple stripe nails

These where inspired by the pattern of my fluffy slipper socks lol!

I used two polishes for this, Poke from Illamasqua and Inkwell from Sinful Colors. I Have to say I’m much happier with this than the tablecloth nails! 🙂

I started off with a coat of Poke, then when the first coat was dry I added alternating stripes of poke and inkwell, while the polish was still wet i used a pin to break up the edges of the stripes to give it a slightly fluffy look.

It was so easy! I added a coat of Seche Vite and it was all done! 🙂

31DC2014 – Half Moon Nails

31DC2014 Half Moon Nail Art

Half Moon Nails

Here are my half moon nails for day 18!

For this I used

  • Black Magic from Revlon
  • Aglaia from 2True
  • Konad SP in Black
  • Pure Midnight From Sally Hansen
  • Seche Vite

Starting with a couple of coats of black magic, I stamped the bottom half of my nail, with Agiaia, I used Moyou Pro plate 05 which is a standard size plate from them, it’s way too narrow and short for me to use as a full nail, but it’s fine to use sideways for half a nail lol!

Then I applied a thin coat of Seche Vite, when that was dry I used ring binder hole reinforcements to mask off the half moons, then sponged on some more Black Magic and removed the sticky rings.

Then for the tips of my nails I sponged on more Aglaia and some Pure midnight, I was going for a gradient but it didn’t really work very well :/

Then I applied another coat of Seche, waited for it to dry then stamped using the same image, but with Konad SP Black and then a final coat of SV.

With all of the topcoat I used for this I’m honestly surprised that it didn’t shrink a lot more!

I’m Back! 31DC2014 Day 17 Glitter

Hey everyone, I’m back 😀

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post, I have tried to write this a couple of times but my brain just hasn’t been cooperating lol!

I have been super busy! I went to a music festival which was amazing and it was really lovely to catch up with people I don’t see very often. Did a big spring clean of the flat (which I really should finish at some point) and loads of gardening, I have loads of really interesting plants and I really hope they all grow!

Anyway on to the nails! I really should have written posts to be scheduled but for some reason the music festival snuck up on me and I didn’t end up with enough time 😦 but I will carry on with the challenge, even with being really far behind! 🙂

Glitter Nail art Rimmel Shooting Star

Glitter Nails

Here are my glittery nails for day 17.

I used Shooting Star from Rimmel, it’s from the Space Dust collection and it’s a polish that I haven’t tried before, I have to say I think it would look better with some undies.

I applied two coats but it didn’t seem to be quite opaque enough, but this doesn’t really show in the photos. When it was dry it has a slightly gritty texture so I added a coat of Seche Vite to make the stamping a little easier.

Moyou Pro XL 07

Moyou Pro XL 07

The stamped image is from Moyou Pro Collection plate XL 07 I really like this image but I think that it is too big, I do find that quite a lot with the XL plates from Moyou, the full nail patterns are the perfect size for all of my nails but the individual images are just too big :/

The black stamping polish is Konad SP in Black, then I applied another coat of Seche Vite.

Silver shiny glittery nails!

Silver shiny glittery nails!

I’m thinking of investing in a XL squishy stamper, I have the Konad hard double ended (hehe) stamper and the white and purple rectangular ones from Messy Mansion, the rectangular ones are amazing! I love the purple one so much!

Do you use a XL squishy stamper? And is it worth the investment? 😀

Anti Valentines Nail Art!

Today I have some very Anti Valentine’s day nails to show you!

Anti Valentines Day Nails

Anti Valentines Day Nails

I don’t think I could have made this any less valentine’sy!

I started out with two coats of Pumice From Sally Hansen, then using a make up sponge I applied patches of Pure Midnight which is also a Sally Hansen Polish.

Then I used a combination of cling film and tiny bits of sponge to add Barry M Grey, China Glaze Galactic Grey and Color Club Shabby Drab to create the stone effect.

I used two Bundle Monster Plates BM-426 and BM-413 for the stamping, I used Konad Special Polish in Black, then with a thin brush I added some Lumin-iceant from Color Club to the letters.

I also used Lumin-iceant for the stamping on my thumb, unfortunately it doesn’t show as well as I would like 😦

I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite, but then decided it would look better in matte so I added a coat of Matte Finisher from E.L.F!

I think that’s enough hate nails from me! And I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s day what ever you are doing! 🙂

Subtle Silver and Grey Nail Art

I have some subtle grey and silver nails today, they actually turned out to be a lot more subtle than I was expecting!

I started out with three coats of Pelican Grey from China Glaze, It’s a lovely pale grey with a slight silver shimmer, then I used Cosmic Dust which is also from China Glaze, to create the gradient and stamp the accent nail.

Subtle Silver

My camera was actually behaving today! so here is a bonus close up of the stamping 🙂

The plate I used is from Messy Mansion MM16 it is available here.

I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I’m so not used to not having bright colours and black on my nails that my hands don’t look like my own oO I’m not sure that I like it lol
