Real Nail Color – Nail polish from Japan!

This is the Third bottle of my Japanese nail polish stash that my wonderful friend brought back for me! 😀

This polish brand is called Real Color Nail and it’s an amazingly glossy pinky red creme!

This is two coats over base coat, I think that this has to be one of the most shiny polishes I have used! You can even see the reflections of the buildings opposite oO

My camera decided that it was going to show more of the blue tones in this polish. It is quite a bit darker in real life!

The application of this polish was wonderful! The standard round brush has very fine and quite long bristles which is perfect for the formula. But I did find the the drying time was a little on the slow side.

The bottle holds 9ml and seems huge compared to the other tiny Japanese Nail Polish bottles!

I really like this polish, I think it;s going to make a wonderful base colour for all sorts of nail art! 😀

GOT Polish Challenge – Pink!

I have to say that this is the first challenge I have decided to take part in and I’m really looking forward to it!

Many thanks to Debbie over at The Crumpet for organizing it, and all of the lovely people at Crumpet’s Nail tarts Facebook group! 🙂

There’s even a Pinterest board here If you’d like to go see some more of the other lovely nails from the challenge!

Golden Oldie Challenge

THE RULES

  • The polish you use should be at least one year old.
  • If you haven’t been a polishaholic that long, you can use the oldest polishes you have.
  • The polish should be previously used, but if you’re stuck, you could free a yearling from Mount Untried.
  • You can use more than 1 polish as long as it fits the theme and the rules.

My GOT Pink Nails

Avon Futura Kir Royal

What makes this polish worthy (over all my other pink polishes) to be showcased in the GOT challenge?

This is a shade called ‘Kir Royal’ and it’s from the Avon Futura range, and as far as I know (tho I could be wrong) this polish was made in the late 80’s!

Just look at that packaging!

I applied two coats (over two coats of base coat) and OMG the smell! The fumes! Ugh! I think it even made my sinuses crinkle up, and I ended up sticking my hand out of the window lol.

I dread to think about what chemical nastiness is in this!

It’s actually a nice colour and it’s incredibly glossy, but applying it was a nightmare! The brush is really stiff and scratchy, it was like trying to paint my nails with a toothbrush! That could just be that the brush is so old it has gone stiff but the bristles where very thick so maybe all old polishes where like that.

I have to admit that this is one of my untried polishes, rather than one I haven’t used for a long time, I do have another one from this range which is the same age that I’m going to be using later on in this challenge! 🙂

Oh if you have any info on this polish or polish range I would love to hear about it! I have done a bit of research but I really can’t find that much about them 🙂

Nail Polish From Japan. Part 1 Eternal Basic Nuru 06

A rather lovely friend of mine went on holiday to Japan last year, and brought back some nail varnish! Seven bottles and a dot artist kit! 😀 Much better than a postcard!

The first polish I’m going to show you is from a company called Dear Laura, the range is Eternal Basic and the colour is Nuru 06. you can find the website (in English) Here

Nuru 06 is a pale turquoise creme polish, this really isn’t a colour I would have chosen myself, it’s good to try new things! After wearing it for a couple of days I’m starting to think it’s not that bad lol!

Eternal Basic Nuru 06

I found the formula for this polish to be on the thin side, and there was a bit of dragging and streaking while I was applying the second coat, but luckily the third coat built up the colour really well, and with the fourth coat it’s not noticeable at all.

The polish is really glossy, a lot more than my pictures are showing!

I have to say. How cute is this tiny bottle? I keep thinking it looks like a tiny blue pumpkin!

(And while I was painting my nails I may, or may not have been pretending to be a giant…)

This polish really didn’t smell too bad and it dried really quickly even with having to apply four coats!

I think I would like to try a some other colours from this polish range… but it’s very unlikely at the moment… One day tho 🙂

Scorn

Illamasqua Scorn

Illamasqua Scorn

This lovely Black has a wonderful satin finish, It is my favorite black polish! it dries in minutes and lasts for ages! I used one coat! with no base or top coat.

Baptiste

Illamasqua Baptiste

Illamasqua Baptiste

This is a lovely metallic dark purple, it’s almost a duo-chrome it’s so shimmery (almost but not quite) it has a very high gloss finish! This took two coats again with no base or top coat!

Propaganda

Illamasqua Propaganda

Illamasqua Propaganda

Apparently this polish is getting quite hard to find, I’m so glad managed picked this up when I did! This is a very dark blue jelly it’s almost black and incredibly high gloss, the formula for this is good but it does tend to drag if you are not really careful when applying it. This was 3 coats  in daylight 2 coats would be fine but my camera was picking up every brush stroke :/

Faux Pas

Illamasqua Faux Pas

Illamasqua Faux Pas

This polish has a rubber finish, it is a lovely mid purple with a grey base for some reason it is looking more violet from my camera. This was two coats the formula is really lovely, no streaking or dragging and as with all Illamasqua polishes it dries really quickly!

Snap

Illamasqua Snap

Illamasqua Snap

This is a lovely metallic shade, it has so much shimmer that i would say its close to a foil! this was one thin coat with no base or top coats, I have found that this is a really good polish for stamping!

Poke

Illamasqua Poke

I absolutely love this colour! It’s a bright purple with silver shimmer and a satin finish, the formula flows really smoothly, it dries really fast and it lasts (on my nails) all week!

SinfulColors Paradise Swatch

SinfulColors Paradise

SinfulColors Paradise

Paradise from SinfulColors is a sky blue creme polish, it has really good coverage and a great amount of pigment for a pastel colour! There was no dragging or smudging while I was applying it! This is two coats with no base or top coat! as you can see it is very glossy.
