Purple Glittery Leopard Print!

Hey! 🙂

purple leopard print nail art

This is my first attempt at freehand leopard print! It seems odd that this is something I haven’t tried before, I think it’s because I have quite a few stamping plates with a leopard pattern.

I’m pretty happy with how this turned out, it’s not perfect, and my silver lines are a little bit wobbly, but I think that adds to the charm lol!

This is the stuff I used,

  • Sinful Colors – Mauve
  • Color Club – The Uptown
  • Chanel – Vendetta
  • China Glaze – I’d Melt Fop You
  • Seche Vite
  • Illamasqua Matte Topcoat
  • Thin Nail Art Brush

This took less than 10 minutes to finish, I think if I had chosen to do smaller spots it would have taken quite a bit longer. 🙂

I have to say I’m feeling a lot better, I think the horrid ills have finally gone! Yay! 😀

Pick and Mix – Purple Fire Brush Stroke Nail Art

Hello 🙂

Brushstroke Fire Nail Art

Brushstroke Fire Nail Art

The prompts for this weeks  pick and mix challenge are Favorite Brand and Brushstroke…

my first problem is I don’t have a favorite brand of polish, out of all the polish brands I have tried I actually have two, Illamasqua and Chanel… I don’t think I could ever choose between them!

Brushstroke Fire Nail Art

for this Brush stroke fire look I used

  • Chanel – Black Pearl
  • Chanel – Paradoxical
  • Chanel – Vendetta
  • Illamasqua – Baptiste
  • Illamasqua – Poke
  • Seche Vite top coat

I used two coats of Paradoxical as the base colour, when it was dry I applied wiggly brush strokes of the other polishes, only a couple of each on each nail, with as little polish on the brush as possible

I found that with the Chanel polishes even with a really tiny amount of polish on the brush, they still applied really nicely, so the final look didn’t end up with the defined brush strokes I was hoping for!

Even tho this didn’t work out quite how I was expecting I still like it! 😀

Chanel Swatches!

Hallo! 🙂

After my last post I realized that I haven’t shown my Chanel polishes nearly enough love lately, so here they are in all their glory! 😀

I have had these for quite a while so the bottles are looking a little on the “well loved” side… But if you are anything like me then that shouldn’t matter too much as it’s the scrummy insides that you want lol!

Chanel Black Satin

Black Satin

This is Black Satin, it’s probably the blackist black nail polish I own, this is two coats over base coat, but you could easily get away with one!

Chanel Black Satin 219

Black Satin

The formula is wonderful, creamy, self leveling and with the slightly longer bristles in the brush it really is one of the easiest black polishes to apply!

This intense red polish is called Dragon.

Chanel Dragon

Dragon

Dragon is a bright red cream, the formula is just as wonderful as Black Satin. This is also two coats, for some reason I completely forgot to wrap my tips Ooops!

Chanel Dragon 475

Dragon

This one is called Black Pearl.

Chanel Black Pearl

Black Pearl

It’s a shimmery dark silver grey, I find the formula for this polish to be a tiny bit thinner than the others, it wasn’t difficult to apply, just not as easy as the others.

I applied three coats, I really like the subtle iridescent shimmer in this polish, It makes the polish slightly different, and maybe a bit more special than all the other dark silver shimmers polishes out there!

Chanel Black Pearl 513

Black Pearl

This bright pink cream is called Splendeur.

Chanel Splendeur

Splendeur

This applied polish in one coat! the coverage is amazing! Splendeur is a fabulous pink, it’s almost a neon but still really glossy.

Chanel Splendeur 217

Splendeur

This is Paradoxical, it’s one of my favorites!

Chanel Paradoxical

Paradoxical

This is a lovely warm grey with a purple iridescent shimmer. this took two coats to be opaque and dries really quickly!

Chanel Paradoxical 509

Paradoxical

This is the classic Rouge Noir

Chanel Rouge Noir

Rouge Noir

Out of all of these polishes this was the most tricky to apply. The formula is slightly sheer/almost a jelly so this took three coats to be opaque, the colour is a lovely dark wine red and it’s incredibly glossy.

Chanel Rouge Noir 18

Rouge Noir

The last polish is Vendetta

Chanel Vendetta

Vendetta

This is a stunning dark purple, and the formula is amazing, it only took one coat and dried in about 60 seconds!

It was really difficult to capture the intense purple shimmer with my camera, it looks so much better in real life!

Chanel Vendetta 483

Vendetta

Vendetta, Paradoxical and Black Satin are definitely my favorites from my little collection of Chanel polishes!

I just have to keep telling myself to stay away from the Chanel counters when I’m out shopping just in case I “accidentally” buy all of them!

😀

31DC2014 Day 30 – Inspired By a Tutorial

Hello! 😀

This is my inspired by a tutorial post for day 30, The tutorial I decided to follow is this rather amazing one that I have been meaning to try for ages.

Nimbus Nail Art From The Nailasaurus!

Nimbus Nail Art

The polishes I used are

  • China Glaze – White on White
  • Chanel – Vendetta
  • China Glaze – Get Outta My Space
  • Revlon – Amethyst
  • China Glaze – Bizarre Blurple
  • Sally Hansen – Good To Grape
Purple Nimbus Nails

I found that the Nimbus technique is really fun! And definitely something that I’m going to try again!

I started out with a couple of coats of white on white as the base, then starting with Vendetta which is the darkest polish I used a cotton bud soaked in acetone and polish to dot on the colour.

When each colour was dry I repeated the process (with a new cotton bud for each colour)

Then I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite!

Purple Nimbus Nails

I couldn’t resist doing a bit of stamping over this 🙂

I used Plate MM07 from Messy Mansion, this is the first time I’ve used this plate and it’s really lovely! I used Konad SP Black then another coat of Seche Vite

Messy Mansion MM07 over nimbus nail art

I had better take this off and get on with the final post for the 31dc challenge! 😀
