OMG Nail Strips Review!

Hello!
I have some nail strips kindly sent to me for review from OMG to show you today! You can find them here! http://www.omgnailstrips.com/

OMG Nail Strips

OMG Nail Strips

I have never used nail strips before, so this was definitely a new experience for me!

OMG Nailstrips Grey Pollock

Grey Pollock

First I have the Grey Pollock design to show you, and you can find these right here http://www.omgnailstrips.com/nail-polish-strips/black-pollock-nail-strips.

The first strip I tried I managed to mess up terribly! lol so after reading the instructions and watching the Video right here  I removed it and started again.

These are really sticky, so if you mess one up, make sure to remove it with polish remover, I tried to picking the strip away and took a layer of nail off too :/ Oops!

My second try worked really well! no creases or bubbles, applying all the strips took less than 5 minutes!

This picture was taken after two bowls of washing up (no rubber gloves) a shower and making some biscuits! And as you can see the wraps are still perfect!

I don’t know if they will last for the 10 days, but from what I put them through I think they will last a bit longer than a traditional polish mani!

Another fun thing about these polish strips is that you can cut them into what ever shape you would like!

These are the pink stars and you can find them here http://www.omgnailstrips.com/nail-polish-strips/pink-black-stars-nail-polish-strips

For the little circles I used the two largest size strips, I found they are too big for my nails and I would have to cut them to size if I wanted to use them anyway. I used my hole punch! 🙂 then peeled away the backing and applied them to my nail. Even after using the largest I still have enough left for a full mani using them!

The black polish is from Barry M and I used a layer out the door topcoat.

These nail strips currently retail at $7.99 a pack (that’s around £5 in the uk)  there is also an offer for 5 packs for $25 using the code 5pack and 10 for $45 using the code 10pack there is also free international shipping!

I have to say I really like that each strip has the width measurement in mm, it makes selecting the correct size for each nail much easier, although I did find that they are a touch on the large size, so if you have small nail beds you’ll have to do a lot of trimming!

I think these nail strips are amazing if you are not confident with doing your own nail art! 🙂

Storm Clouds!

Hi! 😀

Stormy Nails

Stormy Nails

Here are my stormy nails for this weeks pick and mix challenge! I chose the three dark colours from this weeks two prompts.

Nouveau, Strap On Your Moon Boots And Voodoo You Do.

Nouveau, Strap On Your Moon Boots And Voodoo You Do.

I started out with a couple of coats of  Voodoo You Do, a dark metallic grey from Color Club. then using Nouveau from Seche, Strap On Your Moon Boots from China Glaze, and some more Voodoo You Do along with a large dotting tool to create the overlapping clouds!

This really is incredibly easy, just have to remember to let the dotty clouds dry before adding the next layer 🙂

Autumn Leaves

Hello! 🙂

Autumn Leaves Nail Art

Autumn Leaves

I have some very Autumnal nail art to show you today 🙂

My stoopid back is starting to feel better so now I can actually sit down for long enough to not only paint my nails but to write posts too! 😀

I wanted something bright, cheerful and non hallowe’en (I must be ill lol).

Autumn Leaves Nail Art

Sally Hansen, Rimmel London and Chanel

The polishes I used for this are

  • Chanel – Dragon
  • Sally Hansen – Lite
  • Sally Hansen – Ruby Stilettos
  • Sally Hansen – Ivory Skull
  • Rimmel London – Sunny Days
  • Rimmel London – Shirley Temple
  • Rimmel London – Hot Chilli Pepper

I also used a Make Up Sponge cut into little bits, Konad Special Polish in Black, Stamping plate 14 from the Mother Nature Collection from Moyou and Seche Vite.

Sparkles!

A bit of a rubbish photo (my poor camera really hates macro shots) but look at the sparkles! 😀

Orange, Red and Yellow!

I really like this even though it’s mostly orange and yellow! 😀

Pick and Mix – Grey and Purple

Hello!

Grey and purple water spot manicure

Grey and purple water spot

Sorry about the lack of posts this week, I have had really horrible back ache :/ it means I can’t sit for very long, or lie down or stand for that matter… So doing nail art and writing blog posts haven’t really been happening 😦

Luckily it’s not feeling quite so horrible today so here are my Pick and Mix Challenge nails for this week! 🙂

Sinful Colors Amethyst and Seche Nouveau

Sinful Colors Amethyst and Seche Nouveau

I decided on a water spot mani because, I haven’t done one for a while and the other things I tried for this looked rubbish! :/

The purple is Amethyst from Sinful Colors, and the Grey I used for the spotting is Nouveau from Seche.

My one issue with this is how bubbly my topcoat is! Gah! It might be a reaction with the perfume or with the polish itself…

Spotty Nails!

I really should stop using my expensive perfume for water spot manis… But my fingers really do smell lovely lol!

Gory Blood Dripping Nails!

Hello! 🙂

Dripping Blood Nail Art

Dripping Blood

Here are some dripping blood inspired Halloween nails!

Dripping Blood Nail Art

Gory nails

For this look I used

  • Color Club – Nomadic In Nude
  • Sinful Colors – Inkwell
  • Chanel – Dragon
  • Dotting Tool
  • Thin Nail Art Brush
  • Makeup Sponge
  • Out The Door Topcoat
Dripping Blood Nail Art

Drippy!

I started with a couple of coats of Nomadic In Nude, I applied Inkwell using a makeup sponge for the mucky looking gradient around the edge of my nails.

When it was dry I added two or three dots of Dragon to each nail using a large dotting tool and a stripe of the same red polish along the top, then with a thin nail art brush I joined the stripe to the dots!

The drips really are so easy! 😀

These really are gory Halloween nails! 😀

Textured Zebra Nails!

Hello! 😀

Textured Zebra Nails

Textured Zebra Nails

Here are my textured nails for this weeks pick and mix challenge! I decided on the textured prompt for this week, the others are matte and the 60s.  I use matte finish a lot (that might be cheating a bit) and my mind went completely blank at 60s lol!

Textured Zebra Nails Moyou Pro 04

Moyou Pro 04

I managed to break the corners of my index and middle finger nails in a freak cooking accident :/ so I ended up reshaping them… I have to say rounded nails are not for me! I keep thinking they look like spoons or paddles, my poor nails 😦 I think I’m just going to keep them well filed for the next few weeks until they grow back to a shape I like!

Anyway! I used Sugar fix from Sally Hansen Sugar Coat collection as my base for this mani.  This is the first time I have used this polish, probably because it’s textured and I’m not really a big fan…

This is two coats, I used Moyou Pro XL 04 for the image along with Konad Special Polish In Black. I have to say the Sugar Fix is an amazing base for stamping over! The zebra print is so sharp!
