Not Another Springtime Mani!

Hey Everyone!

Gothic Gradient Nail Art

I am so thoroughly not in the mood for “spring” nails! Pastel, pastel shades everywhere!

It’s definitely Spring, the plants are growing, the birds are singing and my cherry tree is covered in lovely flowers.

But I still want to paint my nails black! πŸ™‚

This mani has roses, that’s kind of springtime(ish) yeah?

The gradient is Seance from Illamasqua, and Evil from NYC, the image is from Moyou stamping plate Gothic 03 and Hit The Bottle Black as Night.

I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite then a layer of Illamasqua matte topcoat.

I realized earlier (while I was doing a spot of gardening) That my nails are to long! This is a bit gross but I could probably grow a decent sized potato from the amount of soil I had to clear out from under them! It’s also becoming increasingly challenging to pick up small things lol!

I almost chopped them all off earlier, but, I thought it would be fun to try some other nail shapes before I do! πŸ˜€

Bloody Bats!

Hello! πŸ™‚

Bloody Bats Halloween Nail Art

Today my Halloween mani is Bloody Bats lol and it’s a combination of water spotting and stamping!

Bloody Bats Halloween Nail Art

I used Ivory Skull from Sally Hansen for the white base, the red is Red-ical Gypsy from Color Club, the bat image is from Moyou Gothic 04 and I used Hit the Bottle in Black, then a coat of Seche Vite and it was all done!

Well after cleaning up it was all done, I don’t know what it is about Red-ical Gypsy, but it really likes to stick to your skin! Getting rid of it took nearly half an hour!

Stained Glass Nail Art

Hello! πŸ™‚

Today I have Stained Glass nail art to share with you

Stained Glass Nail Art

Stained Glass Nail Art

For this I used

  • Revlon – Stiletto
  • Rimmel – Shooting Star (Space Dust)
  • Filthy Gorgeous – Prism
  • Moyou Gothic Collection 04
  • Konad Black
  • Seche Vite
  • Permanent Marker Pens

Stained Glass Nail Art

I started our with a Glittery base, I used two coats of Shooting star followed by one coat of prism.

As Shooting Star is a textured polish, I added a coat of Seche Vite for a smooth surface to stamp over.

I used Konad Special Polish in Black for the Image. Then another coat of SV over the stamping!

Moyou Gothic Collection 04

My first attempt to add colour to my stained glass nails was with my tinted polishes, and it really didn’t go well! It was lumpy, bubbly and the colours really weren’t bright enough. I had onlyΒ  tried this on my index finger so I hid the horrible mess with a coat of Stiletto.

This was a bit of an experiment to see if it would work!Β I coloured in my nails using permanent marker pens! I only tried it because I thought I was going to take off the polish and start again!

It’s very pretty but It’s probably not the best idea I’ve had… I should probably invest in some good quality tinted polishes!

I didn’t add any topcoat over the ink, I tried on my pinky nail and the Seche Vite dissolved the colours, so I covered that with a coat of Stiletto as well.

Permanent Marker Pens…

I didn’t wear this for very long, and I wouldn’t recommend colouring in your nails with permanent marker pens!

Tomb!

Hello πŸ™‚

I’ve almost caught up with the 52 week pick and mix challenge! Yay! πŸ˜€

Gravestone Nails

Gravestone Nails

From last weeks two prompts I chose to use just the Non US brand of polish.

This is Tomb. Tomb is part of the 2014 Halloween collection from the lovely UK indie brand Tara’s Talons

Tomb

Tomb

Tomb is a Grey Jelly base with loads of mixed pink and purple glitters along with holographic micro glitter!

I absolutely love this polish! It’s all of my favorite polish colours in one bottle! πŸ˜€ Look at that holo sparkle! Oh and It looks so squishy!

Moyou Gothic Collection 04

I couldn’t resist doing a little stamping over this, with a name like Tomb it needed some gravestones!

The image is from Moyou Gothic Collection 04 and for some reason the stamping was not working 😦 this was the third try, and I’d had enough so I just tried to tidy it up a bit with my Barry M Nail Art Pen…

couldn't resist adding the gravestones.

Couldn’t resist adding the gravestones.

At least they look like gravestones now rather than a dreadful mess lol! πŸ™‚

Pick and Mix Challenge

Hello! πŸ™‚

Pick and Mix Brown and Book

Pick and Mix Brown and Book

The prompts for this weeks pick and mix challenge mani are Brown And Book. I really had a hard time thinking of something to combine the prompts!

I decided on trying illuminated manuscript (it’s close enough to a book)!

An illuminated manuscript is a parchment or book where the page is decorated with silver, gold and other dyes.

If your interested here’s the wikipedia page on illuminated Manuscripts. πŸ™‚
