Canmake – Nail Polish From Japan!

Here is the fourth bottle of my Japanese nail polish stash that my wonderful friend brought back for me! :D

Canmake Nail Color Pink Glitter

How adorable is the little bottle!?! It holds 8ml of polish, this is shade number 34 and it’s called Pink Jelly!

Here is the English language version of the Canmake website.

The formula for this polish is really nice, it has a huge amount of glitter that flowed from the brush really nicely. The glitter is a mixture of silver micro and circular silver holographic.

I applied two coats over base coat. The drying time was a bit longer than I would have liked, it was still a bit squishy after 15 minutes and the finish was a little bit grainy when it was dry, but a good fastdry topcoat would fix that!

The base colour looks so much darker with the flash… Luckily we had about 5 minutes of actual sunlight today!

This polish is definitely much prettier in ‘real’ light lol!

This is a really cute polish! I really love the glitter combination with the pink base colour 😀

Filthy Gorgeous With Black Holographic Accent!

I have shiny purple nails to show you today! As well as my first attempt at individual glitter placement! 😀

The purple creme polish is from a brand called Filthy Gorgeous, the shade is called Pulp!

Black Holographic Glitter is so shiny!

Black Holographic Glitter is so shiny!

Pulp is a really nice dark plum, I found the formula to be a quite thin and sheer, but the coverage was ok after three coats.  It’s very glossy and dried reasonably quickly but it could probably have done with a fourth coat.

The bottle is really cute! (sorry about the terrible picture)

For my accent nail I used two thick coats of Black Magic from Revlon, while it was still wet I used a damp toothpick to place individual bits of the black holographic glitter onto the wet polish. It really didn’t take as long as I thought it would, it was only about 5 minutes! I think that if I had done all of my nails like this it would have taken ages, especially on my right hand lol!

After the polish was dry I applied a coat of Seche Vite, then I carefully filed away the scratchy bits of glitter that where poking over the edge of my nail and added some more topcoat to seal the filled edge!

😀

GOT Polish Challenge – Green!

Golden Oldie Challenge

A quick reminder of the rules :

  • The polish you use should be at least one year old.
  • If you haven’t been a polishaholic that long, you can use the oldest polishes you have.
  • The polish should be previously used, but if you’re stuck, you could free a yearling from Mount Untried.
  • You can use more than 1 polish as long as it fits the theme and the rules

I have to say green is not my favorite polish colour and I only own a couple of bottles of green, but luckily I do have this rather old one!  The shade is called Froggy and it was made by a brand called Lizzy French. I think I have had this polish for about 12 years!

Green Dragon Scales

Green Dragon Scales

The polish is an almost metallic pearl/shimmer with silver, gold and green glitter, As it was so old I ended up having to thin it down quite a lot :/ which made the application a nightmare!

Lizzy French - Froggy

Lizzy French – Froggy

I applied three coats of Froggy over base coat. With the first coat of polish the streaking was dreadful, along with the visible brush strokes, the second coat dissolved the polish underneath, there was crinkling/bunching up and bald spots as well! Ugh the horror!  For the final coat I applied the polish in a really thick layer, really quickly, I’m glad it worked because I was ready to give up on the whole thing.

For the stamping I used Konad special polish And Messy Mansion Plate MM21.

GOT Polish Challenge – Blue

Golden Oldie Challenge

Here’s week three of the GOT polish Challenge! Today the theme is Blue!

I have a lot of blue polishes so today I’m going to show you my favorite blue polish ever! This shade is called Bleu Cosmos from Bourjois and it was sadly discontinued a long time ago!

Bourjois Bleu Cosmos

Bourjois Bleu Cosmos

It’s a lovely dark rich blue, almost black, jelly with huge amounts of blue, silver, purple and green iridescent glitter.

Bleu Cosmos Bottle

When was the last time you saw one of these bottles in a shop? Lol

Bourjois Bleu Cosmos

This is three this  coats over base coat, as I remember this polish tends to stain a bit. Even with no topcoat it’s still really glossy.

Unfortunately It had gone all thick and gooey so I had to thin it a bit before using it. but I have to say with how old it is, and how much I used it in the past, I’m surprised it wasn’t solid! 🙂

Look at the sparkles!

It’s so sparkly! I don’t think I’m ever going to find another bottle of this polish :/ but I will keep looking! 😀

Stand Back! I’m Going To Do SCIENCE!

I’m not really going to do science, just some science inspired nails 😀

The plate I used today is from Messy Mansion, its plate MM25 and you can find it right here. 😀

Science Nails

Science Nails!

I started by painting my thumb and ring finger with two coats of Revlon Black Magic

On my other fingers I added a coat of French White from Nina Pro with two coats of Barry M Acid Yellow over the top,  I used the coat of white polish to make the yellow really glow!

When that was all dry I topped it off with a coat of Barielle Shades Stardust for some sparkles and then and then a thin layer of topcoat.

Science Nails

Science!

For the stamping I used Barielle Shades night moves for the silver and Konad Special Stamping Polish in Black for the images over the yellow.

Then a coat of color club topcoat to seal in the design, there was a tiny bit of streaking form the konad polish :/

I didn’t really like this when I had finished it :/ I think it was because of the colour and that I ended up using a lot of polish it felt very thick :/

But now that I’m looking at the photographs I really like it! 🙂

Nail polish from Japan Part 2. Berry Color Nail.

This is the second polish I have to show you from the amazing collection of nail varnishes brought back from Japan for me by a rather lovely friend of mine!

Berry Color Nail

Berry Color Nail

This brand is called Berry Color Nail, unfortunately I have no idea what shade this is, my Japanese really isn’t that good lol. But if you know what if is please let me know! 😀

Again this is a colour that I wouldn’t have chosen myself, as I’m not really drawn to pale colours. But after applying it I think this is really rather pretty!

Tiny Bottle

Tiny Bottle

This is pale blue/green with gold, silver and iridescent micro glitters, it applied really easily, which is amazing considering the amount of glitter they managed to cram in!

It did take a bit longer to dry than I’m used to, but I think some fast dry top coat would sort that out!

Berry Color Nail

BCN

It only took two coats to be opaque! When it dried the polish was really smooth and glossy, there was no grittiness as with some heavy glitter polishes.

I really think that I need more glittery nail polishes like this!  😀
