Pink Spotty Nails!

While I was going through my nail art box I found my dotting tools and realized that I haven’t used them for ages, so today I have pink spotty nails to show you! 🙂

Color Club Hot like Lava With Orly Liquid Vinyl dots.

I started with two coats of Hot Like Lava from Color Club, it’s such a bright metallic pink! The weather it horrid today all grey and raining so I wanted something bright 🙂

Hot like Lava applied really smoothly and it dries really quickly, the only problem I found with it is the visible brush strokes but the dots cover those 🙂

I used a medium sized dotting tool and Liquid Vinyl from Orly, I used this one because it takes a bit longer to dry than my other black polishes so I had a bit longer to play before it went all thick and stringy!

Dotty Nails

Unfortunately this really suffered from the dreaded Seche Vite shrinkage :/ but it’s cute and spotty so I don’t mind too much!

GOT Polish Challenge – Orange!

I don’t really like orange nail polish, so I don’t have that many (by not many I actually only own two and I got those recently)… so I used the most orangey colours I have that meet the rules for the GOT polish challenge!

I used Roguish Red from China Glaze… it’s a very orangey red, it’s probably why I haven’t used it very much, it being to orange, it’s from the 2012 Halloween collection. The other polish I used is called East Austin and that’s from Color Club, it’s a light bright pinky orange, and it’s been sitting unused in my nail polish box for quite a while!

I tried out a lot of techniques with these polishes and none of them worked well, both of these polishes are rubbish for stamping, then I tried a gradient but the color club polish ate my sponge oO so that was a massive fail, and the polishes on their own aren’t orangey enough… I was about to give up on the challenge for this week.

I’m so glad that I decided to give water marbling another try! This is my second successful water marble 🙂 and I’m so glad that it worked so well!

I may have forgotten to tape up my fingers… So the clean up was an absolute pain lol!

the challenge for this week was a pain in the butt for me but it turned out well in the end 🙂 I just hope that the polishes I used are orangy enough!

Microbes or Plankton? 2True Artimis Over Black

A little while ago I heard on the nail polish grapevine that 2True Pro Metallica collection are good for stamping, I have never really liked the 2True polishes but as they are on offer (half price in Superdrug) I thought I would give one a try!

And OMG it’s AMAZING!!!

2True Artemis over Black

2True Artemis over Black

This polish is called Artemis, I picked out this one because it’s purple! And if it turned out to be rubbish I would at least have a chrome polish in a colour I like.

But for stamping this polish is incredible, it holds it’s colour really well over black, unlike some other polishes that loose their colour intensity and turn silvery grey.

I decided that the image to test this polish out with should be very intricate and detailed.  The image is from Messy Mansion plate MM25. I have to say I’m not sure if it’s microbes or plankton lol. The only other polish I have had any luck with on this image is Konad SP in Black. The 2True polish worked so surprisingly well!

I found that this polish is a bit on the stinky side and I did notice there was a bit of staining while I was cleaning up my cuticles, but as I will only be using it as a stamping polish, it’s not too much of an issue 🙂

The image transferred to my nail so perfectly I hardly had to clean my stamper between doing each of my nails!  and there was no dragging when I applied my topcoat!

I’m now going to go buy the rest of this collection! Hopefully they will be just as good! 😀

Simple Glitter Placement Nail Art!

Just a quick post today! A really simple glitter placement!

Grey and Black Glitter Placement Nail Art

Shabby Drab With Black Holo Glitter

The base colour is Shabby Drab from Color Club. I really like this creamy warm purpley grey shade! The consistency of this polish is wonderful, it applies like a dream and it’s opaque in two coats!

I’m really being drawn to grey at the moment, I think it might be the weather.

shiny holo glitters

I love this black holographic glitter sooo much! I applied each glitter with a toothpick, it didn’t take too long at all, just a few minutes per nail! Then I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite. 😀

GOT Polish Challenge – Chevron Nails!

Today’s GOT polish challenge is chevron nails!

My first attempt at this was with my Messy Mansion chevron stamping plate, I tried to do a black and white gradient with the stamp in reverse over the top, unfortunately my white polish isn’t so good over black and it all went grey :/ I really like the look and I’ll be trying it with different polishes…

My second attempt was a lot more successful!

Free Hand Chevron Nails

I free handed these! Not a single scrap of tape in sight! I was expecting this to be a horrible mess but I’m honestly really surprised at how well these turned out!

I started out with two coats of White on White from China Glaze, then I used Style Slave from 17 for the first chevron followed by Grey from Barry M, and finally Black On Black from Sinful Colors.

I overlapped the different polishes to make sure the lines where even. Like a very simple fishtail braid mani!

The oldest polish I used is Style Slave, I must have owned this one for at least 10 years! Barry M Grey I have had for about three years, the Black on Black from Sinful Colors and White on White from China Glaze I haven’t had s as long!

Golden Oldie Challenge

Don’t forget to have a look at the GOT polish pinterest page

Here’s s quick recap of the rules:

  • The polish you use should be at least one year old.
  • If you haven’t been a polishaholic that long, you can use the oldest polishes you have.
  • The polish should be previously used, but if you’re stuck, you could free a yearling from Mount Untried.
  • You can use more than 1 polish as long as it fits the theme and the rules.

Swirly Clouds! With Moyou Suki 08

I decided that the Ducato polish from my last post would make a nice base colour for some stamping, and I finally get to use one of my new Moyou plates! 😀

I used plate 08 from the Suki collection.

Suki Collection 08

I’m so glad that the cloud pattern on the plate is big enough for my whole nail, even my thumb! I find that on a lot of the large image/picture plates most of the individual patterns are just too small.

For stamping the clouds I used Lumin-Iceant from Color Club. The range of foil polishes from Color Club are amazing for stamping! 😀

The butterflies (I think they look more like bows) are also from the same Suki plate, I used Konad special polish in Black. it was a bit fiddly to clean the stamp up quickly enough before applying them to my nails.

I really like the grey/silver combination even tho my camera decided to show more of the blue tones in this polish.

I think that if i redo this mani I’ll use a couple of larger butterflies rather than lots of small ones!
