Hello! ๐Ÿ™‚

black and glittery half moon nails

Black and Glittery Half Moon Nails

Today I wanted stripey sparkly nails! ๐Ÿ˜€

Lava and Twilight

For this I used two coats of Sally Hansen Lava from the Lustre Shine collection, Filthy Gorgeous Twilight, quite a lot of striping tape and some french tip guides (I used the pointy shaped ones rather than the round ones!)

so sparkly!

Even though this took a quite a while, the striping tape was not cooperating, I really like this look, and I’ll definitely have to try this with different colours! ๐Ÿ˜€

Sparkly Striping Tape Nail Art!

Hi! ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I have a sparklyย mani I created using striping tape to show you.

for this I used

  • Rimmel Space Dust – Aurora
  • Filthy Gorgeous – Twilight
  • Striping Tape
  • Seche Vite

I began with two coats of Aurora, this is a really pretty polish! It is a slightly textured nude with loads of silver glitter, I added a thick coat of Seche Vite to even out the the texture to help stop the black polish from bleeding under the tape.

I used seven strips of tape for each nail, apart from my pinky which only needed six. Starting with my thumb nail I applied the tape, then carefully dabbed on the black polish, then using tweezers removed the tape while the polish was still wet. Then I applied another coat of Seche Vite over the top and continued with my other nails.

I never realized how much easier a decent quality striping tape is to use! There was no curling up, sticking to itself or refusing to stick to my nail!ย  ๐Ÿ˜€

Red and Black and Pointy!

Hi ๐Ÿ™‚

Just a quick post today! Some simple red and black nails created with the help of some striping tape!

Come to Bed Red from Butter London and Barry M Black

Come to Bed Red from Butter London and Barry M Black

I started off with Come To Bed Red from Butter London, this is one from my untried pile! It’s a really lovely shade and was really easy to apply, but it unfortunately took four coats to be opaque so definitely not a polish to go for if you are in a hurry!

Then (when it was dry) I used striping tape to mark out the triangle shapes and filled them in with Barry M Black, I removed the tape while the polish was still wet so it didn’t remove the polish along with it.

For some reason I added some striping tape to my ring finger… It seemed like a good idea at the time, now I really don’t like it :/ Unfortunately I realized after I had added the top coat!

my nails look so much longer!

This design really makes my nails look longer so I think I’ll try to ignore the offending bits of striping tape! ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 12 Striped Nails! I decided on another simple mani for this one ๐Ÿ™‚

Black and Green Striped Nails Filthy Gorgeous Twilight Color Club Kissy

Stripy Nails

I started out with two coats of Kissy from Sinful Colors, Kissy is a really pretty teal jelly with loads of gold iridescent glitter.

When the teal polish was dry, one nail at a time I stuck on the striping tape and added a coat of Twilight from Filthy Gorgeous, then removed the tape with tweezers while the black polish was still wet.

Then I added a coat of Seche Vite, when it was dry I started on the next nail!

I do like stripy nails like this, I just wish they didn’t take as long ๐Ÿ™‚

Art Deco Inspired Taped Nails!

I used a lot of sticky stuff for this look! Ring reinforcements, french tip guides and striping tape! In hindsight I really should have completed one nail at a time, I ended up covered in bits of striping tape, I even found some in my hair!

The base colour is Strap On Your Moon Boots from China Glaze, and I used Black Magic from Revlon for the detail.

I used topcoat to stick on the studs! and another coat to finish it of, The color Club topcoat did dull the Holo effect of the polish a little, But other than that I really love how this turned out!

Crumpet’s GOT Polish challenge! Week Two – Stripes

Golden Oldie Challenge

Here are my stripey nails for the Golden Oldie Thursday Challenge ๐Ÿ™‚ After all the pink flowers from my last post I needed something simple and not too complicated!

GOT polish Stripes

GOT polish Stripes

I started off with a thin coat of silver polish from Eyeko just on the top half of my nail, when it was dry I used some striping tape to mask off where I wanted the stripes to be, then I applied a thick coat of the vamp polish and removed the tape before it dried!

It’s so easy! the only fiddly bit was lining up the tape! I really should use my striping tape more! ๐Ÿ˜€

Eyeko polish

Eyeko polish

Look at how old those bottles are! ๐Ÿ˜€ The silver one was the first metallic/chrome polish I ever brought I think it was from Superdrug! The vamp polish joined my collection a couple of years later, it’s a blue black, and there’s nothing nasty about it!
