Deborah Lippmann Swatches, Modern Love, Across The Universe And Hit Me With Your Best Shot

As I was still feeling grumpy over having to cut my nails right down, I decided that the only way to make myself was to buy some more nail polish 😀

The colours are black which is called ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’, the Nude is ‘Modern Love’ and the Blue Glitter is ‘Across The Universe’.

Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Hit Me With Your Best Shot

This is a really lovely colour, I was surprised that it is actually a frost finish rather than a metallic, the formula is lovely if a little thin, very fast drying, which is lucky as this was four coats.

Modern Love

Modern Love

Modern Love is a really nice nude colour, It has an almost grey tone, which I really love as I find most nude shades to be to pink or peachy. The Formula for this polish is fantastic, it is creamy with out being to thick, and flows easily from the brush, it’s really well pigmented and this took two coats.

Across The Universe

Across The Universe

Across the universe is a lovely dark blue jelly polish with green and light blue hex glitters and mid blue micro glitters. I will recommend at least two coats of base coat with this one, the glitters seem to be extra sticky and it was a pain to remove, even with the foil method! But it’s worth it as this polish is lovely! I used three coats. The amount of glitter in this polish means it is easier to dab the polish onto the nail rather than to use longer strokes.

I have to say that I am feeling a bit better about my short (er) nails now!

Purple Dotted Gradient Nail Art Using Illamasqua And Color Club

Here is a purple dotted gradient rather than a gradient with dots…

Purple dotted gradient

I started with a couple of coats of Secret agent from Color Club, then starting with the darkest colour I added the dots, more at the base of my nail.

The black is Vamp Polish from Eyeko, the other purples are Baptiste and poke both from Illamasqua.

I finished it off with a coat of fast dry topcoat from color club, the color club top coat dried quickly but it’s not as shiny as Seche Vite and I have noticed that the polish chips quite a bit faster and tends to drag the polish a bit more :/

China Glaze and Barry M Dotted Gradient Nails

My new Dotting tools turned up in the post today, along with my new set of Nail art Brushes! Yay!

So here is a Dotty Gradient!

For this I used Stella from China Glaze, This polish is a dark metallic purple red, and Black from Barry m.

I started with one coat of Stella, then used a sponge to create the gradient, this took two coats, then I used one of the medium sized dotting tools to add the dots, I finished it off with some fast drying topcoat from Color club.

My First attempt at Braided Nail Art

This is my first attempt at braided nails! And I’m really pleased with the result! 😀

Braided nails!

For this I used Vamp Polish From Eyeko, Steel of the Night from Color Club and Night Moves from Barielle.

Black silver grey braided nails

I did have a few issues with the brushes being different sizes, so next time I try this I’ll stick with one brand of polish!

Black And Teal Bamboo Nails!

Here’s some pretty bamboo nails that I did a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t have a chance to post them at the time 😦 but here they are now! 🙂

I used Plate Moyou XL Suki Collection 06 and for the base colour I used Black from Barry M, The silvery teal colour that I used for the stamping is Masquerading from color club. Then I sealed it all in with a coat of Seche Vite.

Halloween Spooky Green Spider Nail Art!

Behold! My spooky spider Halloween nails! 😀

Spooky Spiders!

Spooky Spiders!

I started off with a couple of coats of Happy Ending from Sinfulcolors which is a bright green with gold shimmer, when it was dry I used the cling film technique with Emerald City Which is a sparkly Matte polish from Revlon, I followed that with a coat of Seche Vite.

The spiderweb image is from Moyou from the Pro Collection XL 05 I used Night Moves from Barielle Shades, I find that It’s a really good silver polish for stamping, then another coat of Seche Vite.

For the spiders I used Konad special polish in black and my unbranded Halloween plated that I picked up on ebay, they are not the best quality but I like the images 🙂 And then, yes you have guessed it, another coat of SV. I like to use SV in between each layer of stamping in case I mess up the next image, this way I can carefully take off the offending bit of polish with a cotton bud dipped in acetone with out having to start again 🙂
