My First attempt at Braided Nail Art

This is my first attempt at braided nails! And I’m really pleased with the result! 😀

Braided nails!

Braided nails!

For this I used Vamp Polish From Eyeko, Steel of the Night from Color Club and Night Moves from Barielle.

I did have a few issues with the brushes being different sizes, so next time I try this I’ll stick with one brand of polish!

Halloween Spooky Green Spider Nail Art!

Behold! My spooky spider Halloween nails! 😀

Spooky Spiders!

Spooky Spiders!

I started off with a couple of coats of Happy Ending from Sinfulcolors which is a bright green with gold shimmer, when it was dry I used the cling film technique with Emerald City Which is a sparkly Matte polish from Revlon, I followed that with a coat of Seche Vite.

The spiderweb image is from Moyou from the Pro Collection XL 05 I used Night Moves from Barielle Shades, I find that It’s a really good silver polish for stamping, then another coat of Seche Vite.

For the spiders I used Konad special polish in black and my unbranded Halloween plated that I picked up on ebay, they are not the best quality but I like the images 🙂 And then, yes you have guessed it, another coat of SV. I like to use SV in between each layer of stamping in case I mess up the next image, this way I can carefully take off the offending bit of polish with a cotton bud dipped in acetone with out having to start again 🙂

Chit Chat Glitter Nail Polish Swatches

Chit Chat Glitter Polishes

Chit Chat Glitter Polishes

While I was wandering about in town yesterday, I came across these for the bargain price if £1 each! 😀

I used a base of black on black by sinfulcolors so that the glitters show up really clearly 🙂  followed by two coats of the glitter polish

Chit Chat Pink Glitter

Chit Chat Pink Glitter

This pink glitter polish is really pretty, I found this polish a bit tricky to apply, the formula is a little bit thin, but the amount of glitter makes up for that!

Chit Chat Silver Glitter

Chit Chat Silver Glitter

I really don’t know what it is about my camera that makes it hate silver glitter so much… So sorry about the rubbish picture, it was the best one I could get!

There isn’t as much glitter in the formula for this polish as there was in the pink glitter, and it did take a bit of digging about in the bottle to get a good amount of glitter onto the brush. But it is easy to apply, and it definitely has the disco ball look! 🙂

Chit Chat Ariel Blue Holographic Polish

Chit Chat Ariel Blue Holographic Polish

This is a really pretty polish! I really like it over the black.

Chit Chat Violet Glitter

Chit Chat Violet Glitter

out of all four polishes, this one has the most glitter, It is a really pretty blue toned purple, I think this one will be perfect for a glitter gradient over a lighter coloured polish!

I have found that some glitter polishes tend to dry slightly textured or a bit lumpy and need a lot of top coat! but all of these polishes dry very smooth.  The drying time for the formula is a bit on the slow side, but for the price I paid for these polishes they are amazing value! 😀

Shiny Silver nails with Moyou Suki Collection plate 06!

Continuing with my little challenge of using some of the stamping images that I haven’t used yet here is another image from the Moyou XL Suki Collection 06 plate.

Moyou Suki Collection Plate 06

Moyou Suki Collection Plate 06

This is a really lovely image, it was really easy to transfer onto my nails 🙂 It’s one my favorite images from this plate and I’m glad I got to use it for this 🙂

The silver foil polish is Night moves from Barielle Shades, for the stamping I used Konad Special stamping polish in black (I really have to buy some more) and a coat of Seche Vite.

Pink Silver Glitter MoYou Suki Collection Nail Stamp! (And a Challenge To Myself)

I have given myself a little challenge, well not so much of a challenge maybe more of an ultimatum…

I own a quite a few stamping plates from MoYou. I really like them, They are really good quality and the images are fantastic! The XL size is perfect, unfortunately the standard size is a little to small, but I find that with most stamping plates. Maybe my nails are just to long for them 🙂

I realized that I only use a couple of images from each plate, so, my challenge to myself is to use the images I wouldn’t usually choose, or ones that I haven’t used, and at least three from each plate! and when I have done that then I will buy some more! 😀 And by some I mean the whole Mother Nature Collection which I absolutely love!

This is my first one 😀

Moyou Suki Collection Plate XL 06

The image I have chosen is from Moyou XL Suki Collection 06 I haven’t used this image before (not even to try out) because I think it looks a bit like an orange or maybe a grapefruit slice! If you know what the image is please let me know!

For this I started out with two coats of pink silver glitter, from Barry M, with two coats of Frilly Knickers from Butter London on top. This picture unfortunately doesn’t show anywhere near how sparkly the polish is. For the stamping I used Konad Special Polish in black. Then as ever finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Now that I actually have this image on my nails I actually quite like it! 😀

Silver and Black Gradient Half Moon Nails.

Silver and Black Half Moon Nails

Silver and Black Half Moon Nails

For this I used three polishes, Coalest Day of the year and Night Moves Both from Barielle Shades and Black on Black from sinfulcolors (I really need to get another bottle soon)

I started with two coats of Night Moves which is a lovely bright silver foil. after waiting for it to dry, I used my trusty Ring binder hole reinforcements to create the half moon shape.

Then using Black on Black, Coalist Day and a bit more of the night moves I sponged on the gradient. this took three thin coats. while the polish was still wet I carefully removed the hole reinforcements with tweezers, then applied a coat of Seche Vite!
