31dc2014 day 23

I started with a really light gradient with the three grey polishes, then I stamped on the the bird images with the konad polish, then when it had dried I used white on white for the next layer of birds!

I used my Barry M nail art pen or the image on my thumb. and for my middle finger I used a little bit of Dragon and a small dotting tool.

Hopefully I’ll have more time for my little blog now that most of the busyness has been dealt with 🙂

31DC2014 Inspired By A Song

I’m going to finish this challenge… Oh I really wish I had more hours in the day! If you have any spare and wouldn’t mind sending them my way I would be really grateful 🙂

Dragon from Chanel

Dragon from Chanel

I have been wearing this mani for 4 days so it’s a bit messy looking :/

the song that I chose for this is by Type O Negative and the track is called Red Water (Christmas Mourning) I couldn’t find an official video but below is a link to the song if you want to have a listen!

Red Water (Christmas Mourning)

Messy Mansion MM11 and MM29

The polishes I used are

  • Dragon – Chanel
  • Vamp – Leighton Denny
  • Dazzle – Orly
  • Black Magic – Revlon
  • Black – Konad Special Polish
  • Seche Vite

And the stamping plates I used, HD03 and HD05 along with Messy Mansion MM11 and MM29

Starting with 2 coats of Dragon, using Vamp I used the wave image from MM29 for the red water background, I did find that the Leighton Denny polish dried really quickly on the stamper so getting it onto my nails was a little bit of a challenge!

The gravestones are on Plate HD03and the little coffins are from plate MM11 I used Konad SP black for those. Then using Black magic and a tiny brush I (badly) painted on the Mistletoe, for the berries I used my smallest dotting tool and Dazzle from Orly, I also used this polish for the snow flakes, they are all images from plate HD05! And finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite!

Then I spent 4 days rushing about doing stuff, a lot of stuff… most of it involved mud, pastry, poorly pets and filthy water, but luckily not all at the same time!

31dc2014 day 22

My nails usually look this chipped after one day! But 4 days! my nails had even grown a bit, which made the shrinking and cracking from the Seche Vite around the base of my nail really obvious! But never mind 🙂

31DC2014 Day 21 Inspired By A Colour – Blue

inspired by not seeing any blue sky for a while

inspired by not seeing any blue sky for a while

Inspired by a colour…

For this I chose a colour I haven’t seen for a while, Sky blue! It has been really wet and cloudy where I live, not very spring like at all!

My first choice for this was going to be purple, I put all of my purple polishes onto my desk (I have a lot more of them than I thought!) and I looked at them, and nothing! not a drop of inspiration! Went and had a cup of tea, glared at the pile of purple polish from the sofa, I’m usually ok at choosing a polish and working what it will look nice with or what kind of pattern it would suit, but clearly not today! :/

I decided to have a break and pottered off to do some gardening, while I was grubbing about in a pot of lilies, I was thinking how nice it would be to have some blue sky!

blue!

For my sky blue nails I used

  • 17 – Heart Beat
  • Barry M – Blueberry Ice Cream
  • Sinful Colors – Paradise
  • China Glaze – White on White
  • Konad SP – Black
  • Messy Mansion – MM14
  • Seche Vite

This really was very easy, I used the three pale blues for the very subtle gradient, the clouds I used a large dotting tool, and then stamped the birds over the top!

It’s not purple but I really like it! 🙂

31DC2014 Day 20 Water Marble!

water marbled

Here are my water marble nails for day 20! 🙂

I decided that I wanted a glittery water marble. but it turned out to be more of a challenge than I thought…

The glitter polish I wanted to use wouldn’t work, it’s too thick and heavy, so after some swearing and spilling nail polishy water over my kitchen, I instead used it as the base colour and made the water marble with a sheer sparkly purple and black, I think it worked quite well!

The polishes I used are

  • Moon Walking – Rimmel
  • Filthy Gorgeous – Twilight
  • Purple Diamond – Sinful Colors
  • Seche Vite

Originally I was going to use a clear polish but my bottle has vanished oO

I’m really happy with how my thumb nails turned out! One day I’ll manage to get the same marbleyness on each nail! 🙂

But I suppose I had better take it off and start on tomorrows nails! 🙂

31DC2014 Day 16 Tribal Print Nail Art

Tribal Print

Tribal Print

Hey! Here are my Tribal nails for day 16!

I wanted something quite neutral for today, so I used Modern Love from Deborah Lippmann as the base colour.

For the pattern I used two nail art pens from Barry M, a black one and a silver one. I drew the black parts of the patterns first, then added the silver after! It was surprisingly easy to create the pattern!

This is the first time I have tried a tribal print mani, I like it, I think that if I had done the tribal print over all of my nails I think it would be a bit much, but as an accent nail I think it works really well! 😀

31DC2014 Day 15 Delicate Print Nails

Sugar Sugar from sinful colors With Bundle monster plate BM-406

Sugar Sugar With BM-406

Hi Everyone 🙂 Here are my delicate print nails for day 15!

I decided to use one of my untried Sinful Colors polishes today, This one is called Sugar Sugar, it’s an amazing intense shade of red with a smattering of red glitter, and a slight golden shimmer.  I don’t often really like red polish, But this one is definitely an exception!

The stamp is BM-405 from the Bundle Monster CYO set. I had a little problem with the BM plate, My nails are too long oO in particular my thumb nails… There was about 4mm of gap! And the gap was around 2/3mm on my other nails, But not to be deterred I had a cunning plan to continue the pattern with My Barry M Nail art pen, I think it worked! 😀

There was some shrinking and cracking from my topcoat… After my really careful drawing of the unstamped bit of nail, I’m just going to pretend I can’t see it!

Other than my wobbly freehand skills I really like how this looks, I think next time I might try silver stamped over black or grey! 😀
