Bird Cage Nails

I couldn’t resist doing a bit of stamping over Eternal Basic nuru 06 from yesterdays post!

Bird Cage Nail Art

Bird Cage Nails

I used Messy Mansion plate MM14 Which you can find here

For the little birds I used Color club Lumin-Iceant which is a lovely icy blue/silver foil.

I had a bit of trouble with getting the stamp for the cages to work, so I made a stamped decal using Color Club topcoat, Konad Special Polish in Black, and some more of the Lumin-Iceant. I had a bit of trouble sticking the top corner of the decal to my nail but I think that’s just because I made it a bit to thick.

Bird Cage

I really like how this turned out, I have to say I don’t think that I have ever worn a pastel shade for so long lol

Foiled Again! Stamped Peacock Feathers.

Foil Peacock

I started this with a base of two coats of Black Magic from Revlon. For the stamping I used a combination, of Cold Metal (blue), Perfect Mol-Ten (green), Hot Like Lava (pink) and Antiquated (gold) all from the foil range from Color Club.

I put a drop of each polish on the image and and poked them all around with my scraper until the stamping image was covered, before removing the excess, I did mess up a couple of times as I wasn’t quick enough transferring the image to my nail. The Color Club Foil polishes dry really fast, I didn’t even have the chance to line up the image :/

This is the first time I have tried stamping with more than two colours! I really like how it turned out 😀 even tho it was a pain to do!

The stamping plate I used is Messy Mansion Birdie plate MM14, which is available here.

Foiled again Peacock

I finished it off with a coat of color club top coat, The top coat is not too bad, it applied nicely and importantly didn’t mess up my stamping and it didn’t shrink…

After writing this I’m starting to think that this top coat might actually be rather good rather than not too bad! Lol.

It’s just I’m so used to using Seche Vite now that any other top coat lacks the thick glassy finish and seems to take for ever to dry! :/ Maybe I should start trying out other brands of topcoat, so is Poshe any good? What about HKgirl? 🙂

Crackle Polish Experiment Part 2!

Here is part two of my experiments with crackle polish. Part one you can find here! 😀

Layered Crackle Polish

OPI Shatter Layered Nail Art

I have to say, I really like this Layered look, I started with two coats of Black Magic from Revlon, then one coat of Silver Shatter from OPI, then a coat of SV.

The topcoat here is really important, or the next layer of crackle polish will turn your nail into a horrible mess! (that happened to me the first time I tried this lol) you could even use a glitter polish for a bit more sparkle or even a gelly polish if you want to change to look of the crackle! 🙂

Layered OPI Crackle polish

I am definitely going to be using this layering technique again!

Crackle Polish With Stripes

Crackle Polish Stripes

Crackle Polish Stripes

Originally I was going to add this into the my first lot of experiments, but I didn’t, so here it is now! 😀

The silver base colour is Night Moves from Barielle shades, then I added one coat of Super Bass Shatter from OPI, then a coat of 60 second fast dry top coat from color club. I used tape to mask off the stripes then Black Magic from Revlon, after removing the tape I applied another layer of topcoat.

I think that this may look better with thinner stripes (and a bit more care than I used while cutting the tape) I did find that the black polish peeled up with the tape which I found a little odd, as I took the tape off while the black polish was still wet. I think it has something to do with the topcoat.

French Tip

OPI Silver Shatter French Tip

The base colour is Black Magic, the tip is OPI Silver Shatter.

I don’t like this so much, the crackle polish is a nightmare to get into a reasonably strait line for the french tip, I tried this 3 times before giving up :/

Crackle polish Background With Flower Stamp

OPI Super Bass Shatter With Stamping

I used the same polishes as before for this, Black Magic Super Bass Shatter. I used two layers of SV to smooth over the crackles before stamping. The polish I used for the stamp is Masquerading from Color Club.  The stamping plate is P21 but I actually have no idea what brand it is :/

Crackle polish as a base for stamping works really well! and this is another technique I will be using again 😀

Snow Leopard Nail Stamping!

First of all I would like to say sorry about the lack of posts for the last few days, I have been filled with flu :/ Ugh I hate being ill :/

I to start with I thought that I would be able to keep up with my blog posts but after I stuck tissue to my face with wet nail polish while sneezing I thought it would be best to leave it for a bit Lol!

Anyway, Snow Leopard Nails!

For this I used two coats of Ivory Skull from Sally Hansen (I love the name of this polish so much). Then I used a sponge to add some patches of Couture Grey from Maybelline and Night Moves from Barielle Shades. For the stamping I used Black Magic from Revlon.

Purple Glitter Flame Nail Art

Flame Nail Art

Flame Nail Art

Seeing as it is coming up to bonfire night, here are some fire inspired nails! I started with 3 coats of The Uptown from Color Club, which is a lovely purple jelly with Multi-chrome flakies! Then using Black on Black from Sinful Colors and a thin brush I painted on the flame pattern.

Silver Waterfall Nails

I’m really enjoying trying out new (to me) nail art techniques, I realized that by only doing nail stamping I was missing out on loads of other fun nail art stuff! So here is another first for me, Waterfall nails!

Silver Waterfall Nails

Silver Waterfall Nails

I used, Deborah Lippmann – Modern Love, Deborah Lippmann – Hit Me With Your Best shot, Sinfulcolors – Time Off, Illamasqua – Snap, Nails Inc – Old Bond Street, Barielle Shades – Night Moves and China glaze – Cosmic Dust.

I started with a base colour of Modern Love from Deborah Lippmann, starting with the darkest colour using a fine brush, I painted on the stripes, making sure that each colour has stripes of different lengths.

It took quite a while to finish but I really love how this turned out! and I’m going to be trying this again with different colours! 😀
